Schaffer wants to build maidana up before a possible maidana khan fight

If what Schaeffer says is true then HBO would have televised Maidana's last bout. As for this video, it just proves he is full of shit and that we should expect Khan to offically duck Maidana soon.

I think he would give Bradley a hell of a fight,even at this stage. Amir is a world champion and with that comes the responsibility of fighting the highest ranked contender. You cant call yourself the champion of the world and not fight people because they are too dangerous. I understand what you're saying but going in against a dangerous guy can ruin your whole career. So you have to get the balance right.

Nah, the stabilisers are off. He should be ready to fight anyone now. I think he is. I'm not really a big fan of this whole 'building up' of fighters. Too much of that goes on and quite often it translates into fights not actually being made. Amir is at world title level now and should really be looking at the best fighters and the best fights. He's not ready to fight just anyone YET. He's not even ready to fight the best in his division (Bradley). He admitted this himself. Although that would be an interesting match up. Would love to see that fight.

Warren really knows how to match guys and bring them along well. He's a Brit version of Arum in that regard. Goldenboy on the other hand were crazy enough to throw Ortiz in there w/ Maidana way too soon. Pretty reckless matchmaking imo. Or maybe they just didn't know how much of a beast Maidana was. maybe they don't believe in being pussies like Warren's fighters

Yeah. When Khan lost to Prescott Warren got a lot of criticism for making the fight in the first place. But Golden Boy are a huge company, and if Khan fails they'll just move on to the next fighter. Bad move IMO. Hope it doesn't come back to bite him in the ass.
