Indeed. To add to the myriad sanctioning bodies out there, we also have a single sanctioning body recognising two world champions at one weight. And people wonder why boxing is losing fans to MMA? Make the "world champions" fight each other.
They should expand the Super Six to cover other weight divisions in the future and give the fans the fight they deserve.
I believe junior bantamweight has three WBA champions. If I'm not mistaken, Nonito Donaire is the interim champion, Nobuo Nashiro is the regular champion, and Vic Darchinyan is the super champion. :smashfrea
What the point giver says is true.
I like Poonsawat and Caballero so it works out for my favorite fighters at 122.
WBA is pretty corrupt at times though and adding belts seems kind of silly in my opinion.

The point giver believes after a certain amount of defenses, the WBA awards super champions status.
A boxer who holds WBA title is considered by the organization as regular champion. If that champion manages to include a title of a similar weight class which is from another organization (WBC, IBF or WBO) or vice-versa, he/she will be promoted to super champion. In this, their regular title becomes vacant for other WBA-ranked boxers to fight for.
Sometimes it is possible for a regular champion to become super champion without adding another organization's title; Chris John is an example.
Thanks for clearing that up! ounds ludicrous though. Why don't the WBA force them to fight each other?
