Shawn Porter will be the best boxer in the world...

porter is a good prospect but come on lets not get crazy here he has a lot to prove before we can say he is the future pound for pound number one fighter in the world.. i have a feeling the ts is a pac fan I'm a Manny fan, but seriously, what does that have to do with anything? matter of fact my favorite fighter before all this started was Cotto. But what does that have to do with anything? Answer? nothing. This is a hope thread, some people on here taking it way too seriously.

he's gotta work on his footwork. dunno if he's trying to emulate manny, but he does a lot of unnecessary bouncing, even when he's in his opponents punching range. also, his shots can be shorter. great prospect though, he should at least try to make 147 though. i think he could stand to lose a little bit of weight around the torso.

you can never under any circumstances compare another fighter to Mike Tyson. Not that Tyson is so great or anything (he's not even a top 10 heavyweight all time), but he was just one of a kind and a complete freak. I didn't compare him to Tyson, I just said that Tyson is a guy that was able to utilize his height to his advantage. If you watch porter he has a lot of Tyson's qualities. He has a thick neck, good physique, incredibly evasive and can use his left extremely effective.

I think it depends on your fighting style. If you have good hand speed, good power, and can be a good offense fighter that gets inside, he can be devastating to bigger guys and they'll be the ones hurting bad. Tyson is a perfect example. Porter is good, and I won't knock him for that. I believe that he will get better with hard work and time. But alot of ppl on this board talk about him non stop, ONLY because he was one Manny's sparring partners for the Cotto fight, I'm calling a spade a spade.

He has looked pretty good, but hasn't anyone noticed that he's an incredibly short junior middleweight? Unless you have one-punch knockout power, being short is going to hurt your career bad I think it depends on your fighting style. For him to prove that he is the next bing thing,let him go against Paul Williams or Sergio Martinez and win.If he does that then I will believe the hype

He looks promising but one thing I'm tired of lately is Freddy Roach discrediting any fighter he doesn't train.

i understand that shawn porter posts here and most of you are trying to become friendly with porter but give me a ****ing break you pac fans need to stop kissing his ass he is a very promising prospect who obviously has the skills to be a future champion and is a cool guy for spending time on this site and talking to the fans but to say he will be the best boxer in the world at this point is crazy.
