At the time pacquiao said he wanted to test cottos power, and to show everyone that he was at least just as strong as cotto.
So he stood be the ropes with his hands up and he let cotto just keep punching him for a good while.
While im sure he was hoping to get more praises on how great he is from the adoring public, it actually gave people more reason to think he was on steroids.
Im thinking mayweather might not have even asked for these extra drug test if he just boxed cotto.
WHATCHA THINK?
I think Pac correctly sensed that afte rhe had knocked Cotto down and hit him with some good shots that Cotto had weakened, so he wanted to test the waters. That's something you could only learn from experience and confidence. Course if he was wrong and Cotto had a little more on those shots it could have been a game changer. I always thought it was a dumb fight strategy when Ali did and I dont think its good to ever let anyone tee off on you.
People are reading and some are spinning. Agreeing to a non-mandatory blood test is already a big sacrifice. (Pac has never failed a test). Why can't May just agree to the 24 days cut off? Was there any difference in results for 14 or 24? Pac is gonna get tested after the bout anyway........hayayay.
they're worried coz Pac gonna sweat it out, those PEDS :pat:
I disagree. Of course he has inside info on whether Manny's juicing or not. Floyd Mayweather isn't a fan on a message board. Fighters always know. And - for the ten millionth time - these rumors were swirling hard body well before Floyd Sr opened his mouth. Of course Floyd knows what's up. Just like Tyson did when he asked Evander to take tests. Boxing is a small fraternity, mak. Full of similar sparring partners, cutmen, trainers - people who go back and forth between fighters and so many more. I'm pretty sure Floyd's aware of what goes down at the Wildcat.
if thats the case then someone, maybe a former sparring partner would start circulate these "rumors" around
that being said, i have yet to find someone within the boxing fraternity to surface, esp. those who had trained or sparred in the Wildcard to back the Mayweathers on their crusade against Pac
that should've been obvious with pac's opponent selection(brawler style) I know fighters would like to knock off the hot guy,but not at his own game, brains over brawns
clottey and cotto are brawlers? let me guess baldomir and gatti are slick boxers?

time will tell i guess....no need to get catty DAZED...its a difference of opinion...i still love you :luvbed:
No cattiness, bud! Until the next debate...
every comment you post is complete and utter rubbish
on subject-mayweather must have seen something that worried him, pacquioa looked so strong in their and floyd must have then realized, shit,i gota fight this guy,or look like a coward
i'm gonna disagree. 2 or 3 of my 4500 posts were pretty good. i think thats also baldomir's win ratio as well.
agree cotto wanted pac's respect early and that's what costs him the knockdowns with that said, floyd is one of a kind.the fight for floyd to make everybody forget bout pac vs clottey ,is to face t.bradley
of course mayweather has inside info. mayweather knows everything and everyone in boxing. why do you think he never fights the best fighters? why do you think he picks baldomir? omg he has inside info baldomir is a complete can!

well, i guess we'll find out if the court case goes thru...the burden of proof falls upon the accuser and it will validate and expose this 'insider info'
Nah. The burden of proof will fall on Manny to prove that he's been slandered and that it has hurt him in some way financially to where he may deserve comp. Filling up a 50,000 people stadium should convince them of that . Good luck with that. And even if he passes that, he may be forced to take tests to prove his innocence as well - as the defense will no doubt look to bury him with that (as he prepares for Clottey or whoever). GBP isn't small potatoes either.
The lawsuit won't get very far anyway - mark my words and quote me. It's doubtful he gets anything. But if Manny wants to prove his innocence by making less than six figures rather than giving some blood and picking up $40mil, more power to him.
i dont think he has inside info...what i do think he has is, a father's intuition to protect his son...and that's why the smear campaign to get in PAC's head arose...and not to mention to somewhat 'clear' his failed performance as a trainer in the hatton fight

thru morse code
alright DAZED, im not gonna run around in circles with you....DOM's right...Floyd Sr had insider information...himself...he saw firsthand what happened to hatton
The bottom line is, even if he has firsthand info - which I suspect he does, as these rumors have been flying for a while now - he wouldn't come out and say it. How does that benefit him? What benefits him is getting him off the juice and then getting 40mil to kick his a**. No morse code needed.
Man. This thread started off well. Every PAC/PBF thread goes straight to steroids/xylocaine. Any way, I was worried at first when I saw Pac go to the ropes, esp. because it seemed like Cotto could handle Pacs speed at first and was landing. When I saw him tighten up his guard and lean into the ropes I felt better. Like someone said, he's been doing the exact same thing in sparring for years.
At the time pacquiao said he wanted to test cottos power, and to show everyone that he was at least just as strong as cotto.

WHATCHA THINK?
That's nonsense. So Pac is suppose to get his ass kicked now to prove that he's not on steroids.
It's not like every single punch was getting through anyways. And the punches that did actually caused some damage to Manny's face.

That was sheer mental strength. Pacquiao did what he had to do in order to win. He had a point to prove, and half the battle was mental. Once the mental battle was won, the rest of the fight was easier.
