As a former Floyd fan, I am curious to know why Floyd has been quiet lately. I personally have to theories:
1. Fantasy scenario. I'm sure Floyd fans will jump all over this one: Floyd is waiting for Mosely/Berto. He is planning on busting up Shane's victory party in the ring by calling him out ala Kanye West/Shane Mosley. (This would be fukking awesome, I would jump back on the Floyd band wagon if he did this, but personally I don't think Floyd has the stones)
2. This is the most realistic scenario: Team Mayweather is scrambling to find Floyd an opponent before the Mosley/Berto fight. This will give him a reason not to fight Berto/Mosley. Unfortunately, I'm more inclined to believe this one.
In order for FLoyd to beat either Mosley or Pac he needs to stay active
Although he looks razor sharp against JMM he needs more of a threat
he needs to fight in March or April and then fight SSM in Oct/Sep if Mosley wins.
nothing wrong with that
I still think there are secret negotiations going on and the pac fight is going to be signed by Tuesday
Clottey will get step aside money or maybe nothing because he isnt the number 1 contender.
I dont think HBO is going to let Floyd fight in March, espically not on the 13th. They dont want to have there 2 biggest PPV stars fighting on the same date or even the same month.
As for the Pac fight, I think it could happend in November or December. People are crazy if they think that Pac would fight Floyd in September. I always bring up the argument that if they had fought on March 13th then it would be a very active Pac going up against a Floyd who has only had 1 fight in 2 and a half years or 2 fights in 3 years. If the roles were reversed then no one would think Pac had any chance. No way Pac is going to have only 1 fight in 2 and a half years or 2 fights in 3 years and beat an active Floyd. He would get his ass tore up and even Pac fans know that.
Thats why I said that Roach & Arum are super crazy for not letting that fight go down. Even when Floyd was retired, both of them said that they want to make Floyd wait until he's super rusty and fight Pac in his 1st fight back but Floyd didnt do that. He fought JMM. Now they let the March date slip away. Now the next time they fight Floyd, he will be 100% back, very active, and on the top of his game. He will be 10x harder to beat than he wouldve been in March and they will realize that.
Thats why I say that I bet anything that Pac wont come back and go straight to Floyd. I think he will fight Foreman at 154 for that 8th title and then he will meet Floyd in either November or December after Floyd has fought in early April and late July. Pac is also going to be facing a guy who may have just fought 2 super big strong WWs when this Floyd hadnt hardly fought any and is coming off a fight against a smaller JMM. Pac's team will regret passing that shit up if they meet later because Floyd will be alot better the next time around
I'd imagine GB will go with Mayweather's ppv, considering they already announced the opponent for Pac and they haven't jumped on it.

Im with Dominicano. Again, why cant Floyd do both? He shouldnt wait for Mosley-Berto. He should fight someone like Cintron and then fight the Mosley-Berto winner. I dont understand why people keep saying it like he cant do both. I just dont get that
I hope he does just that. Fight CIntron on 3/13 with a good undercard that would easily beat Pac/Clottey. Then face the Mosley-Berto winner sometime in July and the ultimate megafight with Pac in November. Floyds team doesn't have time to wait for Mosley/Berto if they wanna keep that 3/13 date.
Pac will go do his Political thing after Clottey and then face the garbage Yuri if he beats Cotto(no chance) or face Antonio Margarito because he is the last WW in the Top Rank stable Manny hasn't faced.
well I imagine people are thinking he's trying to keep some time open for a possible match-up with Pac. If he fought Cintron in March, then he fought Mosley or Berto in Aug/Sept then the PAc fight wouldn't happen til next year.
Or they will announce the fighter 6 weeks before the fight so that whoever it is is not fully prepared for the fight.:dead:

If it was me then I would have Floyd fight Cintron in early Arpil, hope that Mosley wins by brutal KO, and then fight Mosley in late July
Agree 100% :fing02:
How can floyd be waiting for the winner of the mosley-berto fight? Berto is a HAymon fighter right? And this is the reason why he can't fight williams. So if anything, he's just waiting to see if mosley still has it or not, and probably wishing mosley pulls it off.
reason #3 They can't find any available welterweight out there that he can beat easily. And everybody already know he's going for either a Lt.welterweight or a lightweight to pick a fight with.
Without sounding like a hater, that reason is the most believable to me.

There's been a lot going on behind the scenes in his camp lately. First with trying to secure and subsequently salvage a Pacquiao fight, and now figuring out a viable next opponent. Once his future is a bit clearer in his mind and maybe once he doesn't have that silly lawsuit hanging over his head we'll start to hear more from him again.
I think Floyd is being silent because he's waiting until the Mosley/Berto aftermath before deciding on an opponent.
I would be shocked if he fights on March 13 at this point. It wouldn't be an issue for him because he trains non-stop regardless of whether he has a fight coming up, but GBP has two months to put together a fight and promotion for whoever he's fighting and to go up against Top Rank/Pacquiao/Clottey. I don't think it's realistic.

I think there aren't very many opponent that could have his ppv compete with Pacquiao's. Cintron woudl do fine but it would make it close, Williams would do better but not by much. I honestly think that if he's thinking about the $$$ then he will probably wait for the outcome of Berto/Mosley that would have big money fight written all over it; Mosley wins it's a fight everyone's been waiting for- Berto wins decisively it's be the fight everyone would want to see.
That would be the only logical choice for Floyd. If he wants to shake the "ducker" rep, he needs to do this Mosley thing. Financially, it makes sense. It would make him a ton of money and it would probably out-do Pac/Clottey. This would give him leverage if they decide to re-visit a Pac/Mayweather bout later in the year. If he chooses an opponent before this Berto/Mosley fight, he is clearly ducking.
I think a Berto match up would be better for Floyd right now, but I can't see Berto getting past him. Besides, I doubt a Berto/Mayweather fight would ever happen due to the conflict. Do you think he'd call out Shane if he loss?
I don't think he would call Shane out after the loss, but you never know. He did call Zab out after his embarrassing loss to Baldomir. Mosley-Mayweather would be good, but honestly Shane is older and we know Mayweather has the tools to beat him without too much trouble.
He might want to shut Roach up though and take the fight.

hes waiting till all the top welters fight eachother then he'll call out blown up lightweights again.
He's not searching for a good fight, I'm thinking he's looking for the biggest payday with the lowest risk.
I honestly believe Mayweather wants to get in the ring before facing off against Shane. Now on the real, I hate to think of the Shane match up because he might not even get past Berto.
