Very true. In fact, that's one of the things that frustrates me a bit with Paul. It's a huge advantage that he just doesn't utilize. If he did utilize it, he'd be an even better fighter. The guy likes to fight on the inside though, which makes for some exciting fights.
Yeah, if he knew how to fight defensive and from the outside he would be almost unbeatable.
I like Williams cause he's about action and he brings it. What I think, is...he's overrated. That height make him a freak, with someone of his size and height, he'd be average at best.
Anytime, anywhere, any weight. Dude will fight anybody, and his disregard for weight classes epitomizes what a true pound for pound fighter is.
what do you expect from someone who founded the OTMAB?
All your points fine...whatever you have Ill gladly take.
DEAL.
Mayweather would beat Espinio, Rubio and Lockett.....in the same night. There not good enough to be a WW's sparring partner so dont sell me Espino is tough.
Oktay Urkal is tough..still a shit win...
Pavlik KO Williams in 6 rounds??? Is downright laughable.
Part of me actually feels bad because you genuinly seems invested in PW and i know that you'll acually be heartbroken if he loses, especially if he's KO'd.
I don't care if Pavlik wins or loses a fight it's just that there is no way i see PW beating him when looking at both guys.
Actually Tyson fought in an era where it wasn't uncommon to see a 5ft 11in HW.
Really in the mid/late 80's what other top HW was under 6ft?
In the mid/late 90's what other top HW was under 6ft? I can only think of Tua in that time... but, who else?
Pavlik would be the biggest puncher that Williams has ever faced. Not sure he could take to many flush right hands from Pavlik. The good thing for Williams is that Pavlik is a basic 1-2 fighter and if he can't beat a basic 1-2 fighter that would be a shame and speak volumes about his ability.
Exactly! It's real easy to be the most avoided fighter when eveyone in your weight class is almost alwas 4-6 in shorter and you almost always have 4-6 in reach advantage.
For every advantage,
there is a counter.
Potential Pavlik fight and what you think he has to beat him.
stoppage? PW does not hit anyyyyyyyywhere near as hard as Zuniga, Miranda, Taylor or a LHW Hopkins, how you think he can hurt or overwhelm Pavlik baffles me. And the fact that you think he can take Pavlik's right hand also seems unrealistic to me and unfounded.
I actually think Pavlik size and work rate will give Pavlik hell. P-Will is there to be hit his defense is his offense... but, if he can take Williams straight right hand for all 12 rounds then Williams would easily win a decision... Williams is capable to keep the fight in the middle of the ring. And, that is the way you beat Pavlik. You have to stay off the ropes. I don't see P-Will being on the ropes with Pavlik. If you look at Pavlik best KO's against Zertuche, Zuniga, Miranda, and Taylor all happened when they were on the ropes. But, if you look at the Taylor rematch where JT did a pretty good job at staying off the ropes he did much better in that fight. Then you look at what Hopkins did... And, now we don't even know what Pavlik has left after that... As of right now Pavlik has not shown me anything that makes me think he is the same fighter that he was before Hopkins... I don't think he has it anymore. If he can not get a KO over Williams then it will be an easy victory for P-Will as long as he stays off the ropes which P-Will is very capable of doing.
Burner is my man but I always disagree with stuff like that. 1st of off he has the size to not fear anyone. Size wise who should he fear? 2nd, he's not a money maker so you know he's going to want to fight anyone who brings any kind of money. 3rd, he's good but he's not on top so he's not in any position to do anything but take any fight.
I always use to tell people that there are bums with 10 losses in boxing who will also fight anyone but what does that really mean? You have guys right now calling Floyd out that youve never even heard of. Emanual Augustus would fight Williams, Floyd, and Pac on the same damn night but what does it really mean? Different guys are in different positions and then that changes things totally.
You saw that Margarito would fight anyone until he got on top and then he wasnt going to rematch Williams until he got the other big money fights 1st. A guy like Margarito you would think would super quickly want to avenge his loss and he wouldve done that all day before he got big but once he was on top then that changed. Thats how that shit works. On the flip side you saw how little Floyd went hard for years after an Oscar fight. You telling me that Floyd wouldnt have went that hard after Margarito & Cotto if they brought the big bucks and Floyd wasnt a star at that time?
:liar:
It was Margarito who asked for the immediate rematch, Paul who declined.
In any case, I'm a Williams fan.
Yes Williams will stop Pavlik...too many punches...too many clean punches.....the ref or Pavs corner will stop it.
Pavlik hasnt looked the same since Hopkins raped him and took his lunch money. Hes looke like ass against BUMS...Espinio...Lockett....and Rubio.
I have Williams beating Pavlik....easily at that.
You're delusional. Espinio sucks but he is tough and has a respectable chin. If PW and Pavlik end up trading on the inside like in the Espinio fight (which given both guys is likely) PW doesn't last as long as Espinio did.
He'll trade with Pavlik cuz that is all he knows how to do and when he does he'll be out of there, probably before 6 rounds.
When they fight all my points, bank all that shit and some kind of sig bet, whatever you want man.
The only negative thing you can say about P-Will is that he is tall. Which is really stupid since there is no heightclasses... Nobody cared that Caballero or Funeka are tall for there respected weightclass, you can even say that Donaire and Darchinyan being tall for 115 especially since you have Poonsawat being only 5'3 at 122... but, nobody makes that argument for those fighters so why make it for P-Will?
Maybe cuz you can't call him a ducker since he is willing to fight any top fighter.
Maybe cuz you can't say he is boring.
Maybe cuz you can't say he is a quitter since he has showed to have heart...
So the only thing left is.... oh oh is not fair cuz he is too tall... GTFOH with that bullshit..
so taylor in two tries couldn't stop pavlik, a much bigger and stronger bhop couldnt stop him, but williams slapping is going to stop him? You are a FUKEN JOKE! Willams couldn't even stop a retired winky or a 154 martinez shut ur dumb ass up dude.
using reason and logic. :nono:
Your need only to think of P Williams awesomeness!
hehe
seriously though good point.
Not to mention Hopkins couldnt stop Pavlik and he was having a field day with clean blows.
