A lot of people on here are making out to seem as Pac whole career now is going to be catch-weight fights. Just because he had one catch-weight fight. He had the same amount of catch-weight fights as Marquez, Chavez, Trinidad, WHitaker, Mayweather Jr, and Roy Jones.
Even if Pac has one more catch-weight fight he would have the same amount as Oscar, Pavlik, and Malignaggi.
Hopkins has more catch-weight fights than any other active fighter.
There are even more examples. But, why all of a sudden Pac has one catch-weight fight it became a sin? All of a sudden his whole career will be catch-weight fights. People act like he made this whole catch-weight fights up. When in fact it has been going on for years. But, why do people act this way when Pac does it? Is it racism? If you look at what is different from him and the other fighters who has done it is that he is Asian. The only Asian fighter out of the bunch. And, he gets criticized the most for doing it...
Is the conclusion racism? Or can anybody else explain to me on why he gets singled out?
let's not stoop that low and play the race card for every goddamn problem we got homie, we're alot prouder than that. once we start talking about racism, alot of people will get paranoid and will just agree with it.
imo, it's mostly inferiority complex, i doubt race plays a major role on it.
"Inferiority complex", yes that's the term. Manny will win 10 tiltles in 10 weight divisions in impressive victories and he will still act as if he's an amateur boxer. Like I mentioned in my earlier posts, if he has the personality of Roy Jones, I'd bet these accusations would even materialize. I'd bet they would even demand these stupid ridiculous unprecedented testing in boxing history. If they did, all Roy Jones would say is, "F*** yourselves. I don't give a shit what you think about me. If you think I'm on roids, prove it, stupid idiots."
on the topic... because pac's beating up of his opponents is just that awesome, you have to put on something bad about it...
"parang palabok... lagyan mo ng chicharon..."
also, you have to add in the factor that many stupid people here in the forum do not know the bounds of each weight class and wants their weigh-in stats to be just exact in the borderline (like WW should 'only' be at 147).
most do not even know how to box (i only do street fight :p ) and what contracts about catchweights mean
I didn't know you're one of my many fans...
Do you want me to send you a picture with my signature?
You got to give him a blood sample with the picture too..
So if you criticize Pac your racist???
I fukkin love Hozumi Hasegawa. And I think Pacs a fraud.
How does that work?
It works as if you're a fukking GAY!! You asshole!!:boxing:
I am still waiting for you PM, on the real with you I know is not race. I know is more hate for the man then anything else. He fought Oscar at 147 because Oscar calls the shots in every one of his fights. Just like how Oscar fought Sturm at 160 and then fought Hopkins at a catch-weight of 157. Because Oscar calls the shots. If you honestly believe that Oscar accepted a demand from team Pac of not allowing to re-hydrate himself then you are delusional. Nobody tells Oscar what to do... No commission will allow that it very dangerous for a fighter. But, again your hate has no bounds so you believe every negative thing about Pac.
Even if he has one more catch-weight fight, which I doubt he will fight Clottey at 147, but if he did he will still have the same amount than so many other ATGs. But, yet he gets criticized the most...
If you don't see anything wrong with Pacquaio fighting Clottey at a catch weight then you have blinders on. Which is surprising because you are a really good poster. Historically, I can not think of anybody in Pacquaio's position using catchweights in that way. If you can come up with a name I would be glad to hear it. If he holds a welterweight belt, which he won with a 145 pound limit, it would be shameful to defend with a catchweight. That is pure bullshit and I hope you can see that. This has nothing to do with race at all. If Mayweather, Malignaggi, or any other fighter did this they would rightfully be criticized. To me there's a double standard with the scathing post towards Mayweather when he mentions racism but it's OK to use it for Pacquaio now? Something is wrong with that picture.
All I hear is this is a bogus claim. But, nobody has told me what is different than what Pac has done with one catch-weight fight than what other ATG fighters have done. Why does he get criticized the most for it?
Because he is the number 1 fighter right now and gets more press than anyone?
Also a major contribution is because most feel like Oscar was totally weight drained for their fight. Is that Pacs fault? NO, but thats still how people feel, so when he fought Cotto at a catchweight people complained...
I hate catchweights. I shit on Bhop all the time for it. I didn't like it when Pac did it. I didn't like it for Mayweather vs Marquez (esp when May came in 2 lbs over). I didn't like it for Diaz and Malignaggi. I think alot of people single him out because his catchweight fight was history making and people are just hating. I thought Cotto looked good at 145. All and all though I hate catchweights and I wish they'd get rid of them all together.QUOTE]
No shit, why not just get rid of the weightclasses and have fighters negotiate the weights?
Ive said this on burner's last show, people keep saying pac is catchweight king yet he only had one in his whole career.
Tnx for bringing this up jro!:beerchug:
Haha, NONE son. NONE. There are NO excuses for this double standard shit.
Fact is, Floyd's last 2 opponents have been at a bigger disadvantage than Pacquiao's.
JMM had a big disadvantage. Not hatton though.

Why does Mayweather get hate or fighting smaller fighters when he fought a WW champion(Hatton) and then Marquez(after a near 2 year layoff)?
People act like hes dfone that his whole career, when even 1 fight before he fought Oscar at 154.
So to answer your question- HATE.
Being at the very top of the Sport both Floyd and Manny are now subject to both fair and unfair hate. While there are some who like to make certain things about race, the majoity is really jst regular old hate. To answer the the TS question on why Manny is seen in a negative light: You see Manny's brak out win over Oscar was talked about by hardcore fans more so for Oscar being weight drained than anything else. Mind you that was all Oscar's fault. He asked for the weight and he wanted this fight. When the Cotto was going to happen and the weight requested was even below 145lbs. Cotto's people said the lowest he could make was 145lbs. Shane Molsey tried to still the fight and was told he would also have to fight somewhere south of 145lbs if that were to happen. The problem people have with all this is that the weight thing didn't seem to be to put the fighters on a level playing field. Its seemed as if it was being done to gain an advantage. Anyone who saw Pac against Oscar knows that Pac still had speed and pop at 147lbs before hand. So why force the current champion at the weight to weigh in under the limit? Cotto was atually bullied into putting his belt on the line. He wanted to be stripped at one point. The purpose of a catch weight should be a middle ground where fighters of different weight classes can meet and still preform to the best of their ability. Its should not be a means to gain an advantage. Let me be clear though, I am against any title being on the line in a catch weight fight. Its been wrong in the past and its wrong now.
hate but it comes mostly from mayweather fans if you've noticed. the unbiased, fans of the sport seem to recognize, respect and regard him as one of the best. they acknowledge his accomplishments and how good he is. whether they think he is an atg or not, the overall consensus is he is a special fighter.
funniest post ever.
There is no excuse for him NOT fighting Cotto at 147.
When he fought Oscar at 147.
JMM knew when he mentioned Floyds name that Floyd was a 147 Pounder the last 5 years.
TWO different circumstances.
Haha, NONE son. NONE. There are NO excuses for this double standard shit.
Fact is, Floyd's last 2 opponents have been at a bigger disadvantage than Pacquiao's.
Guts,
That is the UNIVERSAL reputation for pacquiao fans.
Ask peyk-peyk, talisayen, pachugger, el pacman pacman777, samurai, etc to join a random boxing discussion which is NOT about Pac... see how that goes.
J-Ro knows the sport and i give him credit for that.
**** that. Challenge me to a random boxing discussion..
But is must be about Pac.. cause that all I know..
I think this is true.
Alot of people hate Pac cause he an asian whooping alot ass..
People dont think an asian can do that..
Really do people hate Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan to?
To be fair Hatton wanted Floyds LINEAL belt..and 147 is not a catch weight.
Floyd wanted the fight at 147 with JMM because he shouldnt be expected to weigh anything less then 147 after a 2 year layoff and 5 years removed from fghting less then 147.
None of this "to be fair shit" Burnsy, because there's nothing "fair" about what yall say about Pac when it comes to this. I could easily bring up valid reason why the fights Pac had took place at those weights and it wouldnt matter to yall.
Like I said, Floyd has put his recent opponents at bigger disadvantages in comparison to Pacquiao. Circumstances of those fights irrelevant as Floyd fans make the circumstances of Pacquiao's fights irrelevant.
Racism has absolutely nothing to do with it, Manny is the most loved fighter in the sport of boxing right now. By that logic are we to say that everyone who dislikes mayweather or the Klitschko brothers are racists? No we can't.
Whitaker was the champ and Chavez called the shots. They fought in San Antonio because King wanted it there. They fought at a catch-weight at 145 again just like Pac-Cotto and fougth for the lineal belt. Pac was not the first to do this...
Do you want me to go back in time or something and criticize Chavez? I dont have the technology to do that and Im only calling it as I see it. Cotto and Pacquiao unfolded right before our eyes in real-time, most of the topics here are on current events.....There may have been a scandal with Chavez, whitaker but I wasnt there and I dont know the whole story. But of all the current things happening, Pacquiao-Arum is the most foul of all.
If Cotto was half the whiner Pacquiao was he might still have a promising career ahead of him. Hes been plastered, weight-drained and possibly cheated on by Arums goons. His career is over, and if I were him Id sue Bob Arum.
