MAYWEATHER TAKES ON

Whcih way does HBO go as far as PPV...We know Arum has no problem putting on a TOP RANK PPV event. Truly IMO they should give us both fights on premium HBO sort of like a Cotto and Pavlik event. Give the fans something after they couldn't seem to get anything done with negotiations. Who do you want to see on March 13th if both of these fighters go ahead and fight? Who do you think HBO goes with?....Lefty
If Marg is on topranks car i will def watch the clottey pac!!!!!
You mean Marg vs Carsons fight? Tymann was talking about Carsons last night on teh show...We never really got the chance to get it in on this subject the way I wanted to last night. But GG aka Bernardo pointed out that HBO is in bed with Al Haymon and most of their other fighters are Haymon or GBP fighters so it would be hard for them not to side with Floyd and GBP....Lefty
Bolded.........................
My man why fight a no name and ish for it and take a chance on losing out on the biggest payday ever in boxing? BOLD that ish....I know everythign that you guys said but Cintron is still a legit WW. At 147 his only two losses are to Margarito and to me any loss to Margarito sholud have a * next to it at this point. He punches hard and we all know Floyd should beat him easily but we won't hear the smaller man bit....Lefty
The only opponents out there that would make for an interesting fight for Floyd and grab public attention is Williams @ 147-154 a guy he has been labeled as duciing for some time now and maybe Cintron at 147-154...Cintron is a full fledged WW with his only two losses coming to Tony the Cement Mixer Margarito and he has shown us some good things in his last few performances. He fought to a questionable draw with Martinez who many think beat Williams. I think Cintron would be the best option for Floyd at this point at 147 and with DiBella promoting him I think the fight could be made fairly easily for March 13th. If not he should just stay in the gym spar often and wait for the winners or Berto / Mosley and see what pac does in March....Lefty
Martinez beat Cintron twice in one fight, and still got a draw.
I would have answered no problem, until I read the ending of your post :lol1:

why dont you name an opponenet for floyd who could make a better fight than pac vs clottey.....and please be realistic, i mean someone he will have no problem fighting.....

I'm waiting to see who Mayweather decides to fight before I make my decision..if it's anyone less than Collazo or Bradley..than I'm watching the Top Rank Card..
I think ultimately, HBO will put pressure on Golden Boy to drop out of March 13 and come back in May with Mayweather vs. Mosley or Berto.
I agree with you but things never cease to amaze me my friend. If it were up to us they would have made it 1000% PAC vs MAY for 3/13 but that didnt happen right? So who can predict the future...lefty
Pac-Clottey will be a title fight. Champ's defense against the #1 challenger. (Clottey's probably the 6th ranked WW out there). The Mayweather fight on March 13, (unless he fights a champ at jr. middle or jr. welter) will not be a title fight. HBO might consider it if Mayweather would be facing co-P4P lister Paul Williams and bill it as a fight for the ring magazine title, otherwise, HBO siding with the Mayweather-GBP March 13 date would clearly show their Goldenboy-bias.
Now will Mayweather be cocky enough to fight the dangerous Martinez, or the crafty unbeaten Bradley for their titles and risk losing the opportunity for a big payday againt Pacquiao or Mosley? I don't think so.
There's IBF Champ Cory Spinks though, (yeah, the boring guy Judah KOed). That might give Mayweather the championship fight, (not to mention 6th title) he's looking for. But will HBO choose that fight over Pacquiao-Clottey?
Some good points here in your post my friend...I agree with what you have said here for the most part. When it comes to EGO and not really giving a ish Mayweather never surprises me but I think with it becoming the norm as of late he will have to step up and fight a decent fighter or just wait until May 2010 and the Berto Mosley winner....Lefty

Good post.
I've been saying since the Margarito win that Mosley has been shooting himself in the foot. He took too much time off and didn't time it right to land a big fight. When it seemed Pacquiao and Mayweather would take different fights (Cotto and Marquez), Mosley should've fought someone else in the meantime. Anything would've been fine, but he should've fought in the fall. Instead, now he's left with a high risk / low reward opponent in Berto. I understand Shane needed to go through HBO and there was budgeting issues, but he should've taken a fight in the fall and lined himself up for Floyd or Pac. That way he would be lined up for the winner and/or could come in as a replacement. Knowing how a fight between Floyd and Pac would be tough to negotiate, I don't understand Mosley's thinking, or lack there of.
He's been inactive since his landmark win against Margarito, and I think it would've been better to stay active, regardless of the opponent. Now he's stuck facing a young, fast, and tough Andre Berto who is undefeated and should be entering his prime. Dangerous fight for Mosley.
I hear ya dan...I think he should have definitely taken another fight after beating Antonio. Good post.
I'm not really interesting in these two fighters fighting anyone else right now, but they aren't so that is that. I like both Floyd and Manny, BUT I'm not going to buy these fights, I'll be watching them at a family member's house or possibly a stream if no one actually buys these.
For some people REED it doesn't matter who PAC fights or who FLOYD fights they are going to watch their favorite fighter regardless. Or some just don't see a better fight for FMJ then Clottey for PAC....Lefty
I see better opponents for Floyd than Clottey... just not opponents that Floyd would realistically fight.
I don't really think you can answer in this thread until you find out who Floyd will fight.
