I seen him fight. I seen him beat a couple gimmes(bums). Then he fought on national tv against a guy nammed Yaqui Menesses(spelling?). Jones was floored repeatedly and somehow they gave him the decision. That was about the end of his boxing career.
I tried looking him up on youtube but couldn't find anything. Was he any good?
You know, I'd totally forgotten that "Too Tall" once took up boxing. I never saw him fight myself, but you made me look up his profile. This is from Wikipedia:
"After five years playing defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys from 1974 through 1978, Jones quit football to attempt a professional boxing career. He fought six times as a heavyweight in just three months from November 1979 through January 1980, winning all of his bouts, all but one by knockout. His opponents were mostly marginal fighters, with the exception of future heavyweight champion of Mexico Fernando Montes, whom Jones knocked out in the first round."
Sounds like he wasn't too bad. Maybe he could've had a career in boxing, had he started and stayed on that path.
