There seems to be an overwhelming support for Pac in this whole fiasco.
Lets get it straight .. Im not a big PBF fan (im not from the US) i hate his cockyness and the way he cheated out fans by rejecting $8million dollars to fight the relentless margarito. The way he retired in late 2007 when unbeaten welterweights Miguel Cotto and Paul Williams were coming up.
But he is an american born and bred and yet he gets so much hate from all of use(american) ? Should use not be pro-mayweather in a sense that hes fighting and representing your country, instead of some filipino on the other side of the world?
1) In short, Floyd decided to trade popularity for infamy. popularity can be very stifling. You make as much money if you are infamous...but you aren't burned by the expectations of others. The downside is that you aren't loved.
2) That Camry in your sig is hideous.
Bullshit. These is the favorite escape route they take for the real reason. Hagler was booed, Leonard was booed, Louis was booed, Ali was booed in fact every single african american fighter who ever fought in America was booed at some point for no good reason, until they finally lost. The more successful you are the more hate you have. Shane Mosley never made it as big as Floyd because he tried to fit in instead of taking advantage of the hate and turn it into cash.
America sees color first, nationality second and then religion.
Imagine a guy with Floyd's record and skills looking like this:
http://www.worldofstock.com/slides/PRE11220.jpg
Would he be called: a coward? a runner? a chicken? a fraud? Having going up in weight as much as Floyd did and having won as many belts as Floyd did in the same divisions... I know the answer as does EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US. And that folks, that's what's really about for the majority of this board and boxing media in general, finding that guy.
plain and simple floyd is an arrogant dick and most people want to see someone shut his mouth. most have a dislike for floyds annoying personality and it clouds their judgement for him as a fighter also his skills allow him to fight in a manner that doesnt please most fight fans
PBF isso boooooring too! now he's exposed.....self proclaimed greatest of all time say's
"would have beat the great sugar ray robinson"..now,gotta level the playing field.......
confidence first thing to go....sugar shane too good, it'll never happen!
It does seem suspect that American tennis fans overwhelmingly support little white German girls instead of the Williams sisters.
I think race plays a large part, and also jealousy. The "money" persona really bothers people. No one ever really thought about how much money Sugar Ray Leonard had, because he didn't let you know it. Mayweather lets you know it. Young Black athletes today are mostly linked to a rich, thug persona.
Do you see how any basketball player that likes to wear jewelry, has cornrows, and tattoos is automatically labeled a thug. That's not fair, is it?
When football player Chris Henry died, you should have seen the ESPN boards being used as a forum to spout racist remarks. It's because these players are young, black, and flashy.
above all else, its the personality and persona a person projects. You speak of the Williams sisters, but there have been many times in which they show very poor sportsmanship in the tennis court. Look at Floyd Mayweather and compare him to Michel Jordan. The way they project themselves to the media is greatly different. Most people like Michel Jordan with few disliking him ... on the other hand, its the exact opposite for Floyd Mayweather.
floyd's the best cherrypicker, id give you that....he will remain undefeated til he fights the best guys.....
You can't be mad because the man is great. Cherry picker? You don't become p4p by cherry picking.
Floyd is the best and haters want him beat. The problem with that is nobody can beat the guy. People don't understand, the more you hate and wish on his down fall, the stronger he becomes and the harder he works. Floyd will be undefeated for many years to come. He loves proving the haters wrong and shutting there mouths. He is still a hungry fighter.
Dude im older than you im sure, trust me Im getting mad based off the fact yall sound like Brian Kenney & Skip Bayless Old racsict assess
Any Black says anything like you dudes we get banned no matter what facts is facts bottom line
You gots to be a Pinoy
you sound like your racist to Pinoy..
Not good bro.. not even for a black man..
Shame on you..
What part of universal humanity do you not understand? Nobody likes loudmouths and braggarts.
What part dont you understand about a damn culture yes we talk alot of shit, yes we ball out at the club, yes we buy fancy cars & make love to stars......
Joe Louis was arguably the best person boxing has ever seen. He was arrested (for marrying some white chick), chased out of the country for that crime and they ended up putting him in jail and then a circus where he was a clown entertaining white people, but not before they threw him in the ring so he could lose to a white guy when he was no longer a fighter. Racism is a big part of America. Now it's both ways though and the people who used to give now have to take too and they better grow used. :fu2:
So jack johnson's story was like joe louis'?
I'm from the States and I don't hate Mayweather, I like him. But I don't think he has met worthy opponents since lightweight. Maybe the Castillo fight was like Rosario was to Camacho. But I still watch all his fights and agree he has tremendous skills.

It's greencard holding (or non greencard holding) Pilipino expats that have 32 alts and vote 12 times in every poll...
Don't sweat it...
Seems to be a big thing in the USA.
The shame is that it alienates good white people who would otherwise be respectful and supportive of genuine claims.
some black folks still blame racism when they dont get what they want
1. He doesn't fight certain fighters that people wanna see him fight
2. He runs his mouth a lot and contradicts himself all the time
3. He's a cocky ni99a...and I don't mean black person which I am myself
And a lot of the hating on he receives he can thank himself for...
I only care about what he does in the ring though...which is why I'm a fan

You mean Jack Johnson dont you? What a tard trying to give a history lesson and dont know who your talking about.
tHE ANSWER IS QUITE SIMPLE: He boasts but doesn't back it up in the ring. Nothin worse than a loud mouth who doesn't back up his talk.
Pac will have fought 2 top tier Welterweights back 2 back in Cotto an Clottey while May has fought JMM an old blown up lightweight an BUM Matthew Hatton. END OF STORY!
And Pac is EXCITING! He starched Hatton an Oscar while May put us to sleep vs JMM an Oscar.
You guys saying racism is big in America hence why Floyd is disliked. Are you by any chance the same guys who came into my thread about American racism against Manny Pacquaio
Manny bullied by ugly Americans

saying I was a fool and racism had nothing to do with it?
