I hear one of the main examples on why people believe Pac is on PED's is that his punch resistance improved. That he took Cotto best punches and smiled.
So does that mean that we should be suspicious of Foreman, Duran and Pedroza?
George Foreman gets stopped by Ali and dropped by Jimmy Young in his prime, comes back and is walking through punches like the Terminator.
Roberto Duran gets dropped at 135 twice by Esteban Dejesus. He fights Hagler at 160 10 yrs later and Barkley at 160 17 years later and neither guy was able to put him down. Can anybody say DeJesus was a bigger puncher than Hagler or Barkley.
Eusebio Pedroza was one of the best featherweights ever. But before that he was stopped 3 times at bantamweight. All guys who got dropped or stopped at lower weights, went up in weight and showed a good chin.
There has been arguments of his punch resistance getting better as proof he is on it. If you listen to like Burner podcast show. You hear him and some people agreeing that him taking Cotto punches is proof that he could be on something... Which I find bogus...
I agree that is bogus, but not necessarily because of the commonalities between other fighters, their opponents and the their respective punch resistance.
Im not sure how much Pac possibly taking PED's would affect his punch resistance, that argument does not make much sense to me. Most people who claimed Pac is on steroids (I am not one of them) have claimed because his power has transferred so well moving up in weight.

What is this whole thing about Pac being on PED's because his punch resistance is better? Could it be he took Cotto punches because his balance was better, defense better, he saw Cotto punches coming. Could that be a reason he took Cotto punches and it has nothing to do with PED's. Could that be a reason?

Getting dropped could be a result of a miriad of factors besides ability to take a punch. It could have been balance issues, stylistic differences, the speed of his opponent, getting caught with a shot he did not see, conditioning issues and many other things.
You cannot draw comparisons like that.
It reminds me of the triangle theory.
Well Duran got dropped be DeJesus and didnt get dropped by Hagler does that mean he was on PED's?
Come on. You should be better than that.

Come on Domi? In both fights against DeJesus Duran defense was not as good as Hagler and Barkley?
Really you telling me Duran geting dropped twice in a spam of 2 fights with DeJesus was he not having defense? But, yet that same guy who started as a Bantamweight went up to MW 20yrs later and took 2 of the biggest hardest hitters MW at the time and took those punches well? Is that what you saying Domi?
I'm saying he was more defensive. Take Mayweather for example, he got more defensive as he moved up. Join www.worldboxingvideoarchive.com. Go see for yourself. Notice Barkley/ Hagler couldn't land flush and Duran was a master at turning with the punches, then countering.
Better than Hagler? Bigger than Hagler and Barkley? Hit harder than Hagler and Barkley?
And, lets not forget that he fought DeJesus in his prime. Absolute prime and best weight-class. He fought Hagler 10yrs later and Barkley 17yrs later

As for Pacquiao, doesn't even have 1/3 of Duran's defense.
True but does Cotto, Hagler, Oscar, Diaz have the offense and power that Barkley and Hagler had?
Jro,
You've got to be kidding me. Watch Duran vs. DeJesus, Duran was way more defensive against Barkley and Hagler.

I have never heard the argument that Manny is on roids because his chin has improved....
Most people who do think Manny is on roids is because he has increased his power moving up in weight.

What ONE man combines all 6?
Did he not stop fighters at WW? Did he not dominate fighters at WW and JMW? He struggles at LW with the likes of Agustus and Castillo but dominated WWS and JMW...
McClarnin in great shape at 147
Steeles started at 105lbs great shape at 160.
So what are you talking about?
I think its safe to say in 2010 we have BETTER drugs no?
So what does that have to do with the fighters back then though? Being able to do with what Pac is doing?
Yes I have that on my external. DeJesus was a damn good fighter, AND? Come on now...
