Let's analyze Clottey-Pacquiao for a sec.

Clottey for sure is not going anywhere, and no matter what ppl think can hurt Manny he being much bigger than him and having underrated power. Floyd will not go for the ko, or make any attempt to take out Manny putting himself in more danger than necessary....he just tries to win the fight, that was never more evident than when he let JMM make it to the end even though it was obvious JMM was no real threat to him. Boxing is not about how tough or big u are. It's about skills. Clottey is tough and big but to beat Manny u most box, move, and counter. I do believe that Clottey will trouble Manny and possibly beat him. See that's the thing I kind of waver on that and it has nothing to do with Manny's abilities but more on Clottey as a closer. Floyd don't need to go for the KO if he is winning the fight. That's his mentality and that's his style. But I do think that he would TKO Manny in the late rounds if they ever fought. It would come from an accumulation of punishment that Manny would suffer would being countered all night.

to think that boxer A cant hurt boxer B or vice versa.. would be dumb its possible , its just that the likelihood of it happening ...well its a different story

I see Clottey having his moments because of his counter punching ability but overall i can see Pacquiao outworking him to a UD win.

This is a more dangerous fight in my view than Floyd.....Clottey may have a lower ko rate due to inactivity in fights not necessarily than him being featherfisted. More dangerous than Floyd? I will have to disagree. Clottey will be there right in front of Manny and that what he wants. He needs a body to tee off on. Now Floyd would move and make him miss then make him pay for his misses. That is something that his team definitely does not want. Just look at the fighters he has fought lately. They were aggressive stationary targets. He looks his best against them but against boxers/counterpunchers he digress.

Clottey is disciplined, hits hard(anyone thinks not is crazy) doesnt mark. Hes going to walk Pac down, work the body, slow Pacquiao down. As Pac slows rip uppercuts. Respect to Pacman/ Roach for taking fight. :cool2: this is not the damaged Cotto

Clottey is gonna be a solid fight for Pacman!!The 1 thing that can be guaranteed is that Clottey will be standing at the final bell,though as nails!!I don't think Clottey has stamina issues,he just doesn't punch enough!!I will stand by my statement,that if Clottey through 300 more punches a fight,he would be undefeated!!Clottey is a fast fighter as well,very good counterpuncher!!This fight will be tough,Manny should win based on activity,but it ain't gonna be easy!!If Pacman start slowly like he did with Cotto & Clottey gets momentum,then my friends,things could get crazy!!:boxing:Clottey doesn't carry his momentum and that's his problem. He had Cotto in the fight and let Cotto take momentum in the 6th when he was pinned in a corner for like 2 mins, and then when he had it back he let Cotto take it again in the last 2 rounds. Then of course you have Margarito fight when he let Margarito take complete control and had very little effort in getting it back. IMO Clottey lacks that killer instinct that many other top fighters have.

clottey has a good chin, do you guys think paquiao will be able to hurt him or possibly KO him?I'm not betting anything against Pacman anymore. The guy is seriously sick and probably in a level of his own. You never know man if anyone can get through Clottey's defense it'd be Pacman, and accumulation of punches can drop any boxer. Ask Margarito.

You forgot to read the part where he said he thinks he might be having trouble going back to 147 to fight Mayweather if he goes 154.. see.. the thing is i can already hear manny's camp saying "we want to fight at 144" :nonono::grumble:

Well yeah alot of peoples opinions changed after he whooped Cotto in a 1 sided fashion (mine included.) Cotto still managed to beat Clottey with 1 eye though, i just don't thin Clottey has the style to trouble Pac.. Give him trouble? Make it difficult? sure he will Just dont see him winning mainly down to inactivity, Stamina, he doesn't punch nearly as hard as Cotto either. I would pay for it tho, wouldn't pay for him facing Foreman or Paulie, even tho citing someone being tall as a way to avoid them is rather lame. clottey would be a good retirement fight for PAC...one and done...then move on to his political career... PAC would outwork Clottey...there might a KD or two IMO i like the matchup...i have a feeling it would be highly entertaining...another legit welterweight opponent...something the other dude has no interest in fightin I'm just happy this thread went at least a page before somebody mentions:439: whoops nvm.. almost said it too

Also because of that Peek-a-Boo stance, Pacquiao will have an easy time turning Clottey. Clottey isn't gonna be able to see Pacquiao all that well. Pacquiao is gonna neutralize Clottey's right hand.

Agree'd Clottey is too inactive, doesn't have the stamina, too stationary and doesn't have that hard of a punch. Honestly; Clottey is my dude, but stylistically, Pacquiao is all wrong for him. I got Pacquiao easy U.D. I agree with this, due to his inactivity and Clottey taking rounds (or parts of rounds off), the punch output of Pacquiao will let him win by UD. I don't see a KO in this fight as Clottey has a good chin and (probably) not enough power to KO Pacquiao. But I think it'll be closer and more competitive than people on here (from reading the forums) expect, maybe 115-113 to Pac.

Pac won't KO Clottey, but would decision him easy.

Clottey is tough, thats about all that can help in a fight with Pacman. And has already been mentioned they guy goes asleep too often in his bouts. He be able to win a round here and there but he doens't move too well and would be a prime target for a relentless speed demon like Pacman. Fairly easy UD for Pacman.
