Also keep in mind, Toney is going to aim for Kimbo. Kimbo is the easy road and Goosen is going to aim for Kimbo any chance he gets. Lesnar is out for a while, and all four HW contenders (Cain, Nog, Mir, Carwin) will be recouping. The logical answer would be either Gonzaga or Nelson. Toney should not get Kimbo. It's too easy and he'll bring up a stink that he "beat MMA" using Kimbo as an example.

I think Shannon Briggs was talking about this as well. Briggs would probably do better, as he is a huge puncher and a natural heavyweight. Boxers will always be in with a chance, but in reality, it's always going to be a small chance unless they train hard for MMA.

But he has nasty kicks and knees, Toney needs to work at least on checking those kicks, but clinch would be a problem. Don't forget, those guys are natural HW's, while Toney should fight at CW at least. Kongo would be a good fight, if Toney is serious, could be a good fight. Rather let him earn his shot at Kongo. Give him to Pat Berry or CroCop. Better yet, give him to Thiago. Haven't seen a Brazilian execution in ages.

Toney wants to prove boxing > mma. Thats why he doesn't want a mma career, he just wants to fight a UFC guy and then brag about how he showed boxing is better than mma.
