Then you better start hating on:
Roy Jones
James Toney
Shane Mosley
Vargas
Holyfield
Tommy Morrison
People talk that Roy went from MW to Heavyweight and is an ATG and that he is now diminishing his legacy. Well surely the Roid jones thing should make him not be discussed that way. Maybe his roids helped prolong his speed? People still show him love by wanting him to retire before he gets seriously hurt.
Toney is discussed as a damn skillful man, most say he is one of the msot skilled ever. However he was caught using some steroids. Maybe it wouldn't have helped his skills, but he still was cheating.
Mosley had great wins and fights, but perhaps he wouldn't be the man he was without? People talk of him as the best Welter today, which he is in my eyes until I see him in the Berto fight.
Vargas is talked about like a great prospect who jumped in too soon. People love his style and heart.
Holyfield is talked about as a very skilled boxer who had a good defense. CW champ to Heavyweight. Very good achievement and fights. People still love him today.
Morrison, well I just added him on because he was in Rocky 5 and DK played Rocky and him :D
I'm just saying that I know the people who would hate on Pacquaio if he was on steroids most likely still support/ do not hate atleast one fighter in that list.

Linked to BALCO which made a drug called THG which helps hide steroids.
Please read the whole article though.
I like your points because I didn't know that, but I don't know if it is a likely story.
A lot of profesional athletes who get caught actually make funny excuses.
On a side note, that article is horribly fact-checked. Horrible. Roy Jones was never linked to BALCO.
I'd lose all respect for him, just I have for the rest of the cheats (probably no surprise that they're all American). Manny isn't American however, and I don't believe he is cheating.
Easy, cheesy. No need for that.
Roy jones tested positive for a performance enhancing chemical by using an OTC product that was later taken off the shelves. The same way that use of medicinal-strength ibuprofen causes you to test positive for Cannibis, and some (especially older) brands of anti-histamine containing cold remedies can make you test positive for opiates.
Yeah, that's what my research turned up too. Stupid really. Chicano79 liked to argue the same point calling me a hypocrite but he has not since I pointed that out (that I have seen). Personally, I found his point suspect simply because a man with Roy's pride would not likely stoop to such tactics.
In any event...I would not lose all respect for Pacquiao, but I would lose a lot. You cannot take away Pacquiao's generosity and his compassion, but you could certainly question his integrity at that point.
The straight question to ask is how effective are they in adding that extra punch that the Mayweather camp will go to this lenght to ensure that they won't be used? Another question to ask is how easy/hard is it to hide them?
Who were they? the US has an awful record for this kind of stuff, most of their major 'sporting heroes' are tainted cheats.
I agree.
Sorry bud I closed my lniks. I looked at about 10 websites, most were European with eastern European kind of names. Not famous but a bigger boxing fan may have known them perhaps.
Blood is better for testing as substances 1. stay there longer, or produce metabolites that stay there longer, and 2. the blood is a transport system, not a system to remove substances (like the renal system). So blood is a more reliable method of testing for particular substances.
Hypertrophy is just enlargement of tissues or organs; it's what bodybuilders aim for cause theyre after gaining muscle mass.
Muscle-memory is just physiological adaptation by your body - it means you perform an exercise better and better - much like how a pianist improves through practise. The "muscle mind connection" may help you gain mass, cause a lot of lifters spend a lot of time lifting with poor form and thus reduced results.
She mentioned this is why his body may be getting bigger, but he is also better.
His body has elarnt to adjust to the increase in weight which is healthier since he does not have to drain as much, but also his body has more time to get use to the hard work and training at the weight because of muscle memory.
i'll start with hating chavez jr...wait...i was hating him before...:boxing:
I have always hated him too lol. Not sure why, he seems a nice guy, but his name and boxing just puts me off
One point that should be made is that just because you have used PEDS doesn't mean you have to work any less hard in the GYM. You may see better results from both combined HARD WORK & USING PEDS. BUt one with out the other is NOT going to do anything for you. If you had a list of all the professional athletes today who take some kind or PED legal or illegal it would surprise you. If you had a list of all those PEDS available to athletes and saw which ones did what and then compared the list of illegal PEDS to legal PEDS you might see some on one list the LEGAL list that do exactly the same as some on the "OTHER" list ILLEGAL list. Question you have to raise is why would a LEGAL drug do the same thing as an ILLEGAL drug and second question is why aren't they both LEGAL or why aren't they both ILLEGAL? Both are very good question the answer is POLITICS and how those drugs are distributed also side affects and long term side effects. Check into it you may be very surprised....Lefty
Any links to this stuff? I'm pretty damn interested in it at the moment.
Yeah hard work does not stop when using drugs right?
I hate the wait if this fight is or is not happening, and some of the threads that come up are not to my liking, but the steroid issue is a big thing in sports.
A lot of boxing fans, and especially people like Al Haymon, Burner etc... who are big Pac haters and made threads on him actually said if Manny is innocent, why not sue?
So he does but gets hated by these types.
I'm not saying the lawsuite was a good thing for boxing, infact bad, but he is a man and is entitled to not be accused of these things without evidence, especially if it means he may lose money through not getting cotnracts and deals for advertising etc.
It isn;t Manny's people who are doing a petition. If a fan of the sport does something for him, it is not his fault.
Maybe this thread wasn't a good idea, but I know that there are people who have cheated or been lniked to steroids much more than Manny is, but Manny haters still like these fighters. Hypocrisy is the key word.
As for the other fighters, I don't believe they have done such a test, but I am not 100% sure on it.
Believe me,I know the floyd fatefull love the idea that Manny has done roids to acheive his level of greatness,I pity them!!But I also pity those who know nothing about boxing but heard about Manny & decided to cling to his nuts!!I actually find comfort in knowing that everything floyd has done has been exposed as lightwork for Manny!!I always knew that floyd's welterweight resume was garbage, well at least Manny has Cotto under his belt!!lol!!:boxing:
p.s..when did holyfield test positive???you know the differance between evander and manny???when tyson asked holyfield to take a roid test..he took it,passed and won..manny sued
you forgot the part where he has to take one. floyd is looking like a chump at the moment. pac has a credible reason as to why he doesn't want the test so close but floyd has no credible reason to ask pac for further tests. man up and fight floyd or are you going to run again.
None of the guys you mention would make the HOF without an asterisk if it was up to me.
Sure I'd be dissapointed in pac and I'd lose a ton of respect. But then again he surely isn't the only one cheating. I've said multiple times that my estimate, based on nothing but gut-instinct, tells me that about 80% of the top fighters are on something illegal.
I agree that most of those guys are HOF fighters yet there should always be a question mark on them, yet a hell of a lot of fans do not mention it today. Perhaps we as fans have short memories and favourtism?
I do aswell, but I know that I would lose a lot if not all, just like I don't have much respect for the names above when it comes to their past achievements.
There were some others who cheated who weren't American aswell to be fair, I just didn't add them because they aren't famous at all.
Who were they? the US has an awful record for this kind of stuff, most of their major 'sporting heroes' are tainted cheats.
I don't believe he is, like I don;t believe Floyd is. I see a lot of hard work from both guys.
I agree.
Pension,if Manny tested positive for roids especially after filing suite & having people petitioning on his behalf to drain floyd's money,I would lose tons of respect for him!!For the record,I don't believe he has ever done them!!I don't think this tread was necessary!!!The other fighters U mentioned never went through this level to hide anything!!

I did Biochemistry at Uni so it's a legit excuse, i'll read the link you provided me too.
My girl friend is doing a masters in Bio Chemistry and something else. I asked her about it and she said blood is better than piss in terms of testing because piss has a lot fo excess stuff from the blood or soemthing. She did say that she needs to research before I say anything.
She did say that Manny may have hypertrophy and muscle memory when people talk about his body.
I'm not smart like her so don't understand the rest that she said lol.
What made me hug her was when we got into a lil fight and she said don't make me upper crust you lol. Yeah go on then, upper crust me!
I was like you stick to your science and I stick to my boxing. Deal!
As for his excuse, it is also possible that anyone who has knowledge could have told him to say that.
The article doesn't say or prove he was cheating, but a good read.
