I was just wondering if there any explanations on why some fighters can take harder hits than others?
I mean I know we have all heard in some fight about how so and so has a granite chin after they catch a solid punch or two.
I was also curious on how much of someones ability to take a punch is affected by their mind set?
If you have it set in your mind hard enough could you overcome a punch that would normally ko you?
Strengthening your neck will help and stronger legs will actually help as well. But you can not improve how you absorb a flush punch on the chin. You can get better defensively and learn to roll with the punch though.
You can improve your recovery time by being in better shape, but the ability to absorb the punch is either there or not.
I think the strength of your neck can play a part in punch resistance. But some people just don't have a good chin. I agree with the recovery part.

It's called genetics. Same way some fighters are faster and can hit harder. It has nothing to do with training.
I was always taught that there are 3 things you are born with, chin, power and speed.
You can improve speed and power to some extent but chin you have or you don't. True speed and 1 punch KO power is the same, either you have it or you don't.
