Pac Fans, explain to me how and why random Blood testing is a bad thing? Is it just cause Pacquiao has a problem with it? I believe without a doubt that the only reason you dont like it is because Pacquiao doesn't like it. Any other fighters about to make 40 million would agree to it in a heartbeat, even Floyd Mayweather. The only fighter who has come out and said he wouldn't test is Roy Jones, and as much as I like Roy, he has been caught with some illegal sh-t before.
I have no doubt that other big name fighters would submit to this test, I'm talking Oscar, Shane, JMM, Paulie, Ricky, B Hop, Paul Williams, Cotto, Clottey, Berto, they all would take it. Manny could set an example for the sport, but he never even thought about that, all he cares about is his silly superstion, which really is nothing but an excuse he concocted to explain his terrible performance vs. Morales. I recall him having a ton of excuses in that fight, blood test was just one of them.
So on the real, this is a Pacquiao issue? Hardly any other fighter would let this fight die out of fear of needles.

The GBP did not submit Mosley when Judah was asking for it.
I know 40 million is a lot of money but for someone like PAc who stood by principle by not giving Floyd's the satisfaction of treating him like a cheater was priceless.
Immediately after the Ricky Hatton fight, disrespect, accusations, and assertion of opinions from professionals in the boxing industry were directed towards Manny and his legacy.
These same exact people that flat out attacked Manny Pacquiao's career with no proof or evidence have the audacity to ask Manny for 15 random drug tests.
fkk No.
40 million? Manny is already banking.
Are random drug test good for boxing? Sure, throughout the year for active boxers. But not 15 in 10 weeks.
More rigorous testing for PEDs will be good for the sport.
Natas has mentioned some obstacles and issues to actually implementing one for boxing.
The devil is in the details, who gets tested? when do they have to undergo testing? and the ultimate - who foots the bill?
1. Floyd has no authority to issue Pac with this 'drug test or no fight' bullshit.
2. Even if Pac took the test, passed it, but then Floyd won with ease, its possible suspicion would double regarding his previous wins over Cotto and Hatton.
Blood testing has received a lot of attention because it is a new concept in the drug testing world. There is a blood test for EPO use, but it is only an indirect test that can be used as a screening measure to save money by determining whether the urine EPO test needs to be conducted. All the blood test does is tell the testers that the athlete has an unusual blood profile that warrants further investigation. The abnormal profile could be caused by the use of EPO, some other blood boosting drug, or just be explained by the athlete being a genetic freak or living at altitude. The testers then perform the urine EPO test to determine whether artificial EPO is the cause of the abnormality. The blood test does not have to be done in order for the athlete to test positive for EPO.

" the case of Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, it is asserted that urine based testing alone, as required by the Nevada Commission does not and can not detect all banned supplements. When asked his opinion, Victor Conte, former head of BALCO, and obvious expert on the subject has given his take on the blood test crisis, In my opinion, blood testing for the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight is more important for detecting possible blood doping or use of EPO than it is for human growth hormone"Traditional testing in boxing, its basically worthless other than the detection of some types of stimulant, before and after a fight. To just say, Ill be tested on this date, theres all sorts of things you can do with announced testing, you cant do with unannounced testing." Though Conte is a convicted steroid distributor his opinion on this topic certainly carries weight. "

I got this from other posters, can't remember from whom but mad props to them:
If you read both articles, both experts are saying that abnormal level of EPO can be detected by blood test. The difference is, in Doc Catlin's article he explained that an ABNORMALY INDUCED EPO can only be detected by URINE TEST. I'm sure if they asked that question to Conte they would get the proper answer.. And HGH as i gathered are mostly used by body builders, it helps in building mass muscles quicker than normal, BUT it doesn't help in any way in increasing an athletes speed and quickness, this drug even dampens it and makes the person slower..
floyd would demand to scan manny's shit next
anything that could harass and demoralize the pac
fcking primadonna!
manny will not budge...he is not floyd's bitch! this brat is getting away with a lot of things it makes me sick
What doesn't make sense to me is how the NSAC is outdated if they're catching people left and right.
It seems like they're only outdated when Floyd brings it up, but before that no one said a peep about the issue.
Why the sudden Blood test championing? Where were they before Floyd demanded OSDT?
I just think that there was a hidden unspoken contract amongst fighters that no one speaks of the urine only test. In a way, Floyd has broke rank by bringing it up and demanding blood. I think Floyd does see himself as being above the commission, Pac, and the sport of boxing. But hey it takes a guy with a huge ego to make change. Boxing when it comes down to it is survival of the fittest, its not a team sport, Floyd is looking out for Floyd, if that means every other fighter has to suffer, Floyd can care less, he's made his money. So you can take this and call him the bad guy, but as far as the general public is concerned you are not a bad guy for asking for a better drug test, Pac doesn't realize that yet. He thinks people will view this as a pride issue. Nope, American media doesn't care about pride.
I dont think the Nevada commission is catching guys left and right, only when they get sloppy, like Vargas and Toney.
I think the size of Pac's head is one possible reason, also his performances in the ring. Maybe they do view walking through Cotto's punches like its nothing as being unnatural. I dont think its out of bounds to suspect any athlete is juicing, this is the era we live in. And now that we know that the Nevada Commision test is outdated it is even more likely some substances are getting by.

Its good for boxing if it'll be 100% implemented
on ALL boxing fights.. If it'll be on just people who
are having unfair treatment, what is the use?
Nothing is unfair if both fighters agree to it. But even with that said, boxing has never been fair, its all about favoritism, who's the draw, who's making the most money, etc... It's never had any real governing body so no request is out of line or unfair. Fighters can ask for whatever they want.
It's not very likely that he thinks Pac is on the juice.
What makes him think Pac is juicin'?
Pac's own success or his father's crack induced accusations?
Either way, Pac has never been suspected of Steroids before, so why toss 40 million away based on a hunch or suspicion?

You make good points but when I think about it.. Pac and his team are arguing that it is the simple act of the test itself that Pac absolutely can not do. He can not have a teaspoon of blood taken out of him within 30 days of the fight. That just doesn't make any Sense. Making a catchweight for a natural welter imo is tougher than a blood test.
Truthfully a lot of people think Floyd is only asking for the test cause he no Pac doesn't like it. What if he actually is truly concerned that Pac may be on the juice? Do members here owe him an apology. These fans will take Pac's concerns seriously but they wont take Mayweathers concerns seriously.

would it be naive for me to think that in reality, atleast 60% of the top fighters are on some type of PED's?
I think Pacquiao refusing to test is making boxing as a whole look bad. I guarantee there is not a baseball, football, cycling, or Olympic athlete alive that consider Pac's refusal....heroic.
What bugs me is that Floyd is telling Pac to take the blood test or he takes his ball and goes home.
If I was fighting for 40 million, I wouldn't demand the guy who'd be my ticket there to do something he might not want to do.
I'm actually frustrated with both sides so, I'm not gonna say it's entirely Floyd's or Pac's fault.
I think Pac should take the test and Floyd should stop biting the hand that feeds him.

It shouldn't kill this fight though, athletes take blood test man, this is nothing new, Pac and his team are acting like this is the worse sh-t in the world. Its just a freaking blood test!!!!!

It's bad for Boxing if it ends up killing one of the biggest fights in the last 30 years.

olympic style testing is absolutely a good thing, only pactards disagree cuz their hero would no longer be able to walk around with a backpack of every steroid known to man being pumped into his system
