You can't stereotype all filipinos that our favorite figther is Manny Pacquiao.
Of course there is a strong attachment to the guy. But me watching boxing did not start and will not end with Pacquiao.
personally my favorite boxer of all time is the ''Golden Boy'' Oscar De La Hoya.
damn that guy is a legend. Prime Oscar would have beaten pacman. But not by KO for sure. :boxing:
man, i respect your opinion. I also respect Pacman he's a great boxer. what i dont like are pacs' fans who blindly support him and disrespect other boxers.
I see we are on the same page brother.
yeah, I know some people like that.
they go ''Pacquiao is the greatest, and all the others will bow before him''
but can't really blame them. Pac really gives us much pride here in the Philippines.
but..
yeah, they are just Pacquiao fans. Not really of the sport.
and I am both.
and I say boxing lives after Pacquiao:boxing:
well that's the sad part bro. too much pac, less on boxing.
again nothing against pac. But saying boxing is dead after him is too much.
But hey us filipino's just really like the fact that a boxer that is from our country is dominating the boxing scene. :boxing: pinoy pride. :)
but hey let's just respect each other's opinions. Again I am Filipino, I am a very big Pacquiao fan. And I am really proud of him on the joy he brings to us everytime he fights. And he really is the top dog right now.
in my humble opinion. He is the most exciting fighter today. Deserves all this recognition for his talent.
But guys, c'mon. The sport of boxing isn't resting alone on his shoulders.
boxing will go on :)

Pacquiao didnt bring new fans to boxing. Phillipinos arent boxing fans theyre pacmans fans. and to the thread starter im sure you were a boxing fan before pacman got into this business. They even say if manny retires boxing is dead.. well boxing will sure be dead for them as they have no real interest in it without pac

Actually I wasn't asking what country to do you come from. It seems you know tagalog pero sa tingin ko hindi ka d2 lumaki.
Pero no need to argue.
I grew up in glendale california. Sorry if I misinterpreted it.
but im pretty sure im slang in tagalog.
so may I ask who is your favorite boxer? :boxing:
OH really? ano ibig sabihin ng first post ko sa thread mo. sige nga pare. Mabuhay ka rin.. I'm not upset bro. I'm just doubting if your really pinoy? I'm just thinking that your an alt.
If you talk it seems you were here long time ago. But guess what you've just join recently.
pare. tinanong mo kung ano bansa ko tama?. Pilipinas pare. Philippines.
paborito ko tapa o tocino sa umaga. taho sa umaga, balot sa gabi. you name it bro :)
Red Horse??. hahaha.
hope that's enough proof bro. ''Hoy Pinoy ako!'' just like bamboo's song eh? hehehe.
and what do you mean the way I talk it seems I was here a long time ago?
how do people new to BS usually talk? :)
again I hope this clears things brother. :)
Your not a Filipino. Don't try to be.
did you understand what I just did say a while ago? I doubt. That was basic..
pare Filipino ako. hahaha. why you acting upset bro?
paborito kong boxer ay si De La Hoya. hindi na ako Filipino?
but don't get me wrong pare. Of course im still part of that crowd that's shout's and goes wild when Pacquiao fights.
just from a boxer's perspective I prefer the aggressive but calm traditional textbook boxer kind of guy ( DLH ) over the aggressive almost street fighting like style of Manny Pacquiao.
so peace brother :) Mabuhay ang Pilipinas.
I support Pacquiao to death. But he's just not my favorite boxer.
Happy 2010 :boxing:
Some Manny fans are annoying because they act like Manny is the greatest of all time, Manny is God, boxing will die when Manny retires, and they get very upset with you when you don't agree with them.
No, I don't have anything against Manny.
Boxing was dead before Pac revived it. Now that Pac will be retiring soon, boxing will die again. No one can replace the Pacman. He is once in a century. As long as there are boxers like Mayweather, boxing is doomed.
I agree-not all people of a race should be lumped in,but it seems a majority have tarnished the minority here. Nonetheless,I choose to meet individuals, not nationalities- I don't give a damn where you come from, but if people mainly like a fighter because of personal reasons such as race-they simply are not boxing fans.
The problem with some of Manny's fans are they are obsessed with him to the point where they ignore whats going on with boxing and believe that when Manny retires, then boxing dies....he's a great fighter, but the sport doesn't end with him.
100% filipino here.
and I 100% agree with you.
I don't even like Pac that much. but I really like his exciting style in the ring.
sure as a Filipino I like the guy for bringing pride to our nation.
but i am also a genuine boxing fan. And I don't really see boxing dying with pacman's retirement.
#1 is still De La Hoya! loved those one-two bombs and the textbook combo's.

True. Most of people here generalize all filipino as die hard pacfans which is not the case. I'll tell you im a pacfan at the same time, a floyd fan. Im a fan of both. Nationality is not the reason to be bias.
amen brother.
