In his prime, there was nobody who better represented the classic Mexican style and the classic Mexican fight ethic than “El Gran Campeon Mexicano.” With brutal body work, a calculated temper and a cast-iron chin, Chavez bullied his way to dominance from the Super Featherweight division all the way up to Welterweight. Chavez’s toughest enemy was his own weakness for partying and the last couple of years of his career saw him be a shadow of his true self. Prime Chavez is of the “all-time” class and Top 5 of the last 25 years. This is why he's been my hero, and a hero to many others.
Chavez Sr (PRIME) vs Chavez Jr (PRIME) .... = one hell of a fight .... ;)
Chavez Sr. Wko3
Camacho Sr wko3
Pryor Sr. wko3
Hearns Sr. wko3
McGirt Sr. Wunan
etc
Only the last name is the same!!
Chavez was a great. most think him as a puncher but is was an underrated boxer.
naw, if anyone thinks this, then they have never seen his career, he was patient
i just rewatched the chavez vs haugen fight for 100th time. haugen talked so much shit. first punch made greg lean, second made him wobble, third dropped him. taxi drivers must have been some tuff guys.
chavez sr a great fighter but his record was vastly inflated.
Inflated because he kept fighting every week, no matter who it was. but you have to admit, he was great
u forgot the (2) next to taylors name even though taylor should have been allowed to continue in the first fight.
yea i know, it was close, i gave the respect to taylor on that one
Great fighter, would always have trouble with the faster/slicker type fighters but his will to win and relentlessness was great and had some of the best body punching you'll ever see.
