It seems as if HBO has no concept at all of what constitutes a good fight. Adamek is bigger than Hopkins and loves to rumble. This would be a fight. There would be real danger for Hopkins.
I rather see Hopkins-Dawson...
I think Adamek-Hopkins could turn out to be a more exciting fight.
Hopkins-Dawson could would finally decide who is the best LHW but more than likely be a chess match.
because hopkins is an overrated, washed out bum that no one cares about anymore. even in his so called "prime" he was an overrated bum who thought it was halloween everytime he fought and had a fantasy dressing up as a dominatrix and he thought it looked scary OOOoOOOOo im zcaredzzzz! -.- .. who wants to see him fight on hbo just to ask for a wheelchair midway thru the fight and watch him getting his ass embarrassed again.
I'LL PASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!
:rofl::rofl:
If Im HBO I want Adamek v. Haye...it would be a guaranteed fight of the year candidate...What a fight this would be!
Adamek v. Haye would be Epic...
HBO probably is better off not paying for a Hopkins fight. Hopkins demands a lot of money and is boring as heck to watch. I mean I like watching him. I think he's the second most skilled counter puncher in the game after mayweather. But he certainly doesnt appeal to people looking for a slugfest.
EDIT: To all the people being critical of HBO Boxing. Be careful what you wish for. If HBO dropped its boxing division it would be a huge blow to the sport. In my opinion they are what is keeping the sport alive. It's understandable to assume that if Pacquiao/Cotto/Mayweather couldnt fight on HBO PPV they would choose to fight with another promotional company, but this is not the case in the long run. If HBO Boxing disappears it means even more top athletes will choose to become MMA stars rather than waste their time with boxing.

i doubt it...adamek will come to fight, but hopkins will not at this stage....
lets face it...adamek is the bigger man...and hopkins is gonna fight tooooo defensive for adamek to have a chance to look good...at the same time, hopkins is gonna use every dirty trick in the book to look like he's landing punches and winning rounds, just so he can have a case to cry robbery when the judges give adamek a decision for being the aggressor, throwing more punches, and ultimately outlanding him....its a grave reality that hbo has seen too many time with hopkins, and probably is not interested in investing millions on, because hopkins is gonna use his golden boy politricks to demand the lion's share of the purse, and honestly does not pull that kind of weight in the seats and in ppv land...
anybody who disagrees i'd be happy to hear your rebuttal...
Nah, if you look at their track record they're ****ing idiots, who the **** wanted to see a Dawson- Tarver rematch?
They also turned down a Adamek vs Cunningham rematch.
Although now there has been word that they want Adamek-Arreola if Adamek gets past Estrada (2 months after the Estrada fight no less)
I suspect that the only thing they want to see from Adamek is him getting murdered.
Let me get this straight...
Are you suggesting HBO has a personal agenda against Adamek?
A rough breakdown as I understand it...
It's because HBO's budget was strapped in '09 and Adamek and his team didn't want to wait around to see if they could make it happen in 2010 so they went ahead and fought Golota and Hopkins went looking elsewhere for fights as well.
I'd still love to see it happen.

bingo! why do you think most of the fights on there are complete rubbish. diaz-malignaggi rematch? was there any point the first fight was awful. same with dawson-tarver 2. berto-urango? berto's entire career? then they have showcase fights like victor ortiz-diaz or cotto-gomez? why? sometimes by sheer luck they stumble onto a good competitive fight like martinez-williams or guzman-funeka.

I agree, its much more appealing to me than some of the trash they have put on like dawson tarver II lol

Why the hell is HBO "not interested" in Hopkins vs. Adamek?, How is that fight not in | BoxingScene Community
