Why??? Why??? Why??? that's my simple question.. In the 100 or so years in boxing this have not been demanded.. Floyd's team is lucky arum is willing to negotiate for such BS.. why don't floyd's team ****in accept the compromise??
Penalties has for not making weight has been done several times and occurs at least once a year in fights. While Olympic style testing has never happened.
usually a fighter is stripped, or a fight is cancelled altogether.....
these "pre-fight fines in contracts" started with manny-dlh.
My issue is not with Floyd bringing it up, but any boxer requiring it. Why didn't Floyd bring it up in any of his prev. fights? I'm saying the powers that be need to make this the standard, not just for one fight. I'd applaud FMJ had he come out while not negotiating for a fight and said "you know, we should have more in depth testing".
floyd requiring the drug testing, is no different than manny demanding 10 mil/lb. for floyd coming in over 147.....even though floyd has never missed 147 in his career.
most fights, when a fighter comes in overweight, either the fight continues, but the fighter is stripped, if he's the champ, or the fight continues as a non-title fight, or the fight is cancelled altogether. 10 mil/lb. is waaaay over the top bro, you can't justify manny pushing those terms on floyd and floyd accepting, then act as if floyd is asking manny to cut off an arm to take 5 random blood tests, in 3 months.....
it should be done for all fights and why not start with the bigghest fight in years
the biggest fight EVER....if you believe the hype.
Why do it for this one fight though? Of course, the one fight people want to see more than any fight in the past 10 years.
i think it should be done for every fight i belive it should be the standard testing for the sport .... like you said this is the biggest fight the sport has had to offer in along time so why not set this type of testing standard with our "superbowl"

Oh plsss.. stop with "this is a step in the right direction".. ****in Schaefer rejected such demands when judah was requesting for additional tests against mosley.. So now schaefer and GBP wanna be angels here saying they wan't to clean up the sport?? pls..
it dose not matter who bring it up it about time they start giving random blood test for all fights

Exactly my point. Why applaud FMJ or Golden Boy for this NOW? Look at this for what it is and not what you want it to be.:boxing:
this is it..... i belive the standard mayweather is trying to set is good for the sport especially with today's technology as far as steroids random blood testing should be the standard.. look at how much baseball has suffered because of steroids and their failed policies on drug testing even the senate and congress had to get involved to change their drug testing policies to something that actually works if it goes unchecked then you have potential records that were not earned look at mcgwire, sosa, palmero, bonds what do you do with all their accomplishments ? take them away, astericks ?.....imagine if we have to start taking away wins and belts away from boxers because they were on some type of steroids.especially in a sport where you can badly hurt and even kill another man random blood test should be used in everyfight .. mayweather shoukd be commended for trying to better the sport...if an athlete has nothing to hide the there should be no problem with him taking random drug testing ..
Why do it for this one fight though? Of course, the one fight people want to see more than any fight in the past 10 years.
so lemme understand you correctly....
the drug testing idea is fine. you like it, and think its a good step for the sport and all.....
but you don't agree in this case, b/c it's floyd mayweather jr., that decided to bring it up?
:pat:

I have no problem actually with the testing, should it be mandated by the proper comissions. I think it is good for the sport and is needed, again mandated properly. Not by one camp, fighter, promotional company.
Someone has to take the first step.
Are you kidding me? Floyd is doing this "to clean up the sport"? The sport that he has proclaimed to "steal some more money" from? Floyd could care less about boxing legacy, history, and the future of it. He is all about the here, now, and self. Be real.
Obviously Pac can care less about history and legacy as well, cause his is about to be jacked up.

good post.
Because it would be a step in the right direction for the sport of boxing, although perhaps not for Pacman. which one is more important to you?
it's obvious.....

Why is there a Supermiddleweight division? Cause Sugar Ray Leonard said so? Why are fights 12 rounds? Cause Leonard said that to?
Why do fighters where gloves instead of bare knuckles? Why are low blows and punches to the back of the head illegal?
Rules are meant to be changed, upgraded, redefined. This is the steroid era homie, and Pac is looking like a user.

random blood testing should be done for all fights not just this fight. if anyone is cheating they are a cancer to the sport we love.
It doesn't matter who's doing it or why, it's a good thing for boxing again that is if you're a fan of boxing and not just a fan of Pac.

Because they truly believe he is juicing. Its as simple as that. Also, alot of rules change in sports. By next year blood testing could be the norm and 10 years from now they could have stories on ESPN talking about the old days with no blood testing and how many guys couldve been cheating. Im not saying Pac is though
