GL: To be clear, if this fight doesn't happen under the full jurisdiction of the NSAC as every fight before it, then it's just not going to happen. Bob Arum: "Absolutely! Who are we, the fighters to make the rules? We've got a Commission, let them make the rules. If you want to come before the Commission and ask them for additional tests for both fighters, you want to test them going into the ring, in the ring, whatever you want to do, you're the Commission tell us. As far as I'm concerned the Nevada Commission are boxing people. They'll make the rules that will protect the fighters and we'll get all this silly stuff done and over with." GL: As a boxing guy reading between the lines, it seems to me that you're not so subtly telling the Mayweather camp where they can go and this is what they get for overplaying their hand because they basically had all of their concessions and decided to go public and accuse Manny... BA: (cutting in) "Exactly. Let's do this the right way. Manny Pacquiao is 100% an honest kid. He's never cheated and virtually every doctor except for this guy from USADA says you can determine everything from urine analysis. People in that organization hate that guy that has been a loudmouth. Ask him how many blood tests there were from 29 days before the Olympics until after the competition was over. YOu know what the answer is? ZERO. If they didn't do any blood tests until after the athlete competed what the hell are they talking about? What are we trying to subject these fighters to?" GL: And this isn't a position your going to bend on, it's just take it or leave it at this point. BA: "Absolutely. Not particularly when we found out that in his office Schaefer told Ron Nathanielz that Pacquiao was a cheat, that he was taking drugs and so forth. And his dialogue with this creep from the USADA started in September. We have evidence of that, we have all of the inside stuff. This is a whole campaign on his and that creep Oscar's part to smear Pacquiao because he chose us over them. I'll bet you all the money in the world, I don't know this for a fact, but this whole idea was put in their ear by Schaefer." GL: For somebody who allowed Todd duBoef to take the lead, you seem to be telling everyone what it is. BA: "Well, once I saw what was happening, I said to myself, I'm going to get emotional about this, let's see if Todd, who is cooler can salvage this and play along with them. I'll show you the documents, when they put this in the documents, I immediately crossed it out and when we returned our contract to them it didn't include that clause." GL: Do you think boxing needs better standards for testing? BA: "I think there should be more pre-fight testing with urine analysis, but our doctors and experts tell us that every single thing that can be picked up in blood, is better picked up in urine analysis. The only reason they do the blood after the guy competes is because they freeze the blood and it stays good for eight years, the urine decomposes after a while. If they want to take blood after the fight, if they want to freeze it fine, who gives a shit? But that's why there's no blood testing until after the competition at the Olympics and that's something this scumbag never said." GL: What's the Mayweather camp's deadline? BA: "On Monday we're going to make a deal with Lou and Malignaggi and we're going to put a deal together with the same kind of procedures in place for Manny's next fight, and that'll shut up Malignaggi also. He's been keeping quiet now because he doesn't want to blow a fight, but that's fine. Either way, I'm sure he'll be satisfied." GL: Considering some of his opinions, some are surprised you chose that direction. BA: "Everybody is entitled to their opinions, but what the **** is everybody talking about? He was 135 for Diaz, 142 for De La HOya, 138 for Hatton and 143 for Cotto. Where is the difference in weight? He's been virtually the same weight for the last two years." GL: If Mayweather and Pacquiao is salvaged, are you disappointed at the black cloud that has already been cast above the promotion? Isn't this a black eye on an event that should have been absolutely positive? BA: "I think you're absolutely right, but I think our litigation will proceed in any event. Our major litigation is against Golden Boy for the promotional rights of Pacquiao and that's about to go bye-bye." GL: Golden Boy still makes money on Pacquiao fights, yes? BA: "Yes, but we're going before the arbitrator to get that removed and that's going to cost them millions of dollars. And that includes the profit that they would have gotten from the Cotto fight, which is probably between $1.5-$2M on their end." GL: Closing thoughts? BA: "My closing thoughts are, this nonsense has got to stop otherwise Mayweather can pound sand. It's simple as that. We're not going to put up with this nonsense anymore. It's made a farce out of boxing. It's made a farce out of the event and it's been a calculated attempt to smear the name of Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather should know better. The only thing I can think of is, he's using this as an excuse to get out of the fight." Team Mayweather and GBP has been totally respectful. I've only heard garbage from Arum's side. This is an obvious duck on Pacquiao's part, and it's rather disturbing that it's only because he refuses to be tested on a random date. There goes his legacy down the drain! LOLs the USADA crap! Arum, more than anyone, has really fukked up these negotiations. He has flip flopped, made ridiculous claims and acted like a complete buffoon. And if he really believes this: "but our doctors and experts tell us that every single thing that can be picked up in blood, is better picked up in urine analysis." He is even more stupid that I previously thought. Maybe that is why people dont trust "your doctors" to take the tests in the first place. Blood is the best way to pick up PED's.

Floyd is giving up the same thing, then. And to think Pac would still be taking a lot of blood and urine tests including directly after. What did they want to accomplish? If Manny is dirty, then you could say they are going to make him fight fair and thus diminish him and help Floyd's chances greatly, assuming he is 1)dirty and 2)they can catch it and thus stop Pac from using When you look into the situation, all the evidence points to Pac being clean as a whistle, so in all likelihood he isn't dirty. Which leaves us with the idea that Floyd and team are trying to mess with Manny's head to gain an advantage that way, rattle his cage and possibly also promote the fight at the same time, even negative publicity is good publicity...but if that is the case, they would agree to Arum's final offer. Rattling and publicity accomplished. Floyd has stated how easy a fight Pacquiao would be for him. You would think he would jump at the huge huge huge payday if that was the case, steroids or no steroids.... and steroids when? If they are taking his blood at the press conference, 30 days away and then again after the fight, and his piss as much as they want, the scenario that Pac is using roids becomes more and more hypothetical. So did Floyd really want this fight? Combine this fight with the second Oscar fight and Floyd has blown off what? Fifty, sixty million dollars? Add to that the fights he missed while he was off and you could say he lost eighty million dollars. Does Floyd just not want to look like he is running, so he is trying to make the negotiations difficult so when he bows out he can save face? I honestly don't know. To me though, I think Floyd is somewhat afraid of losing to Pacquiao no matter the cash, its hard to say....will he really go fight Mathew Hatton? That would be unbelievable if he did. It seems Floyd has to make this fight if he is as cash poor as many think. Or if not cash poor, has tons of bills. Pretty much the whole welterweight division is dangerous for him and way less money involved so he has to make this fight.....maybe he is more afraid of simply losing maybe he fears he will take a terrible beating, a KO loss........ I mean, if he REALLY thought he could kick Manny's ass you would think he would take the fight. I know some will say that about Manny, but I think Manny doesn't want his blood sucked out so close to the fight and randomly and that is sapps him in those precious final weeks when he is preparing his hardest, a huge distraction, but more than this Arum sees a relationship between Schaefer and the org Shaef wants to use. I'm laughing because we already know Manny is willing to fight a guy like Cotto.....lets see who Floyd fights........ NICE POST!:wow:

Pac can do what he wants. If Floyd's team aren't happy then they can walk away. Floyd will never make as much money from another fight out there, and all the other welters are damn big. This is a big pay lost for both teams, sadly we will miss out on the biggest fight of the decade and it was gonna boost boxing to the mainstream for sure, but if they don't trust him and want more tests, and Pac doesn't want to, then that's a demand that has been too far.

Pac camp said they are willing to under go blood test right after the fight. What can you find before the fight that you cant find right after the fight??? You don't need a genius to figure this out. Someone wants a way out. If a boxer uses peds he will use it during training and come off them at least a week before the fight. Come fight night they wont be in his system but he will have all the physical benefits of training while using them. Last week Team Pac had no problem with the testing now they are talking about 30 day cut off points.

I'm tired of hearing that if Pac has nothing to hide then he should take the test. **** that shit!!!!!!! Mayweather aint the ****ing commission. He has never asked anybody else to take random blood tests. Rules are rules. The fights in Nevada and they should go by the rules of the Nevada commission. That's how its done and thats how its always been done. If you dont like take it up with the commission and state your case. pac having that 30 day cutoff is what bothers me. when mayweather and GBP backed off of USADA doing the tests, just as long as they got done randomly, that told me they were willing to bend. but the 30 day window, i dont know. i really dont know what to say or think about that. Pac camp said they are willing to under go blood test right after the fight. What can you find before the fight that you cant find right after the fight??? You don't need a genius to figure this out. I don't understand one thing. Arum says they want commision to handle this... But he is willing to have as many urine tests as needed. Isn't this something commsion should also decide? He want's commision to decide on blood tests, but not on frequency of urine tests? Something commsion should take care also, if he want's this thing run by commision. Good point about the different levels of acceptability between blood and urine test for Pac. By itself, it could still be argued that the difference lies in what blood and urine test can and cannot show or prove. As I remember the issue evolving, it has been pretty consistently stated by team Pac that urine tests would be available as much and as often as wanted by Team Floyd. The sticking point has always been the blood testing. Make it out as you wish ... IMO I kinda agree with Tua that this could still be a massive and unorthodox PR campaign for the Pac - Floyd fight. Infinetely better than Pac - Paulie.

i think maybe that's why they picked malignaggi. from what i read arum said they'll do blood tests with malignaggi to shut him up. an outspoken critic of pacquiao agrees to fight pacquiao with the same type of blood tests pacquiao proposed to mayweather. I Guess that is one way to go but still I think the best thing to do is just seperate himself from the whole matter, this just keeps the issue at the forefront.

If thats true i think pac is a fukwit he couldve done the mayweather fight!!! whose running now??? he ain't no rocket scientist. that said pac is tough in negotiations. the guy has a huge ego. remember he was willing to walk away from career paydays with delahoya and hatton. he would have walked away except oscar and ricky caved in.
