And how many knockouts do you think he'd have? It sucks that he can't hit hard due to his hand surgeries...he's got speed and skill not to mention a good chin...he just lacks power and that's the only thing holding his career back and if he fights Pac that will be the only tool that would make the difference in the fight...your thoughts?
You must have not seen Malignaggi fight, because if you did you would notice he has little to no defense. I mean he gets hit constantly and even slow fighters are able to land flush on him.
As a fan of warrior-type fighters like Gatti/Hatton/Diaz etc I don't like saying this, but he needs to run more and stay on the outside much more in fights as it suits his skills. Even in the Diaz bouts he could've won them more easily if he had not engaged so much and fought Diaz's fight for a few rounds, he needs to be smarter.

with better training i could have seen him outboxing hatton pretty well. dont think he would have beaten cotto though...thats one of those style mismatches(styles makes fights)
Malignaggi is too predictable. He circles the same way too much and fights in rhythm making himself easier to be timed. Why is he struggling with Herman Ngoudjo? because power or lack of was not a factor for either fighter in that fight.
he'd still have lost to Hatton, he cracked him with a huge shot and hurt him in the 2nd round and the fight was done and dusted from then on. Not sure how power could've helped him that night.
However, he'd be a much better fighter (not boxer) with some killer power and would be up with the best even more than he is now.
if his hands werent so brittle i think he'd only have 1 loss on his record and that would be his loss to cotto.
Maybe even a draw? Btw do you go to kings boxig gym in Oakland?
