porter is damn good...but isn't it a bit premature to put him in the same boat as angulo, kirkland, martinez, and williams?
oh and guerrero...
It's more of anticipation for the future of the division. In about 3 years, the majority of these cats will still be around and we should be having a golden age for 154
Funny it did for me too; I wouldn’t mind seeing two crafty southpaws in Martinez and Quintana scrap it up talk about a chess match.
Peace.
Hey look what we have here a boxing fan, a guy who doesn't mind watching two fighters who defend themselves quite well and prefer to use there wits and awkward styles to make up for their physical shortcomings. This division is too stacked with young talent to not have good fights take place in the future.
Whats wrong with DLH?
He was old an inactive and ducking fights with Vernon Forrest and Sergio Martinez. He was basically a part time fighter full time promoter. Who at the time shouldn't of been ranked all that high.
True story.
Sorry.. but what actually makes Porter and Henry a top dog in the division, right now? They're currently both journeymen. Maybe in the future they'll be at the top.
Quintana, Cintron, and even Williams. The 154 division is going to be explosive. Toooo many good fighters not to have great fights.
Remember when it was Verno Phillips, Ouma, Spinks all being lead by DLH? :lol1:
Good to see a division turn around so much. The same thing has happened at 140.
Jr. Middle's are deep
Excellent fighters there right now. The possible match-ups are incredible. Consider me a fan of Shawn Porter. I liked how he looked the other night, better than Guerrero. I think he's picked up some things from the Pacman. He moves like him, can slide in and out and to the side and then lower the boom when the time is right. He's a serious bright light in the division.
Martinez will take over the division given the chance, he should have a win over Cintron and IMO a draw with Williams but i'm not so much bothered by the Williams fight other than the ridiculous scorecard as it was close but the Cintron fight should have been a KO.
just the thought gave me goosebumps :D
