i have had many pinoy friends. Most of the people are very hospitable there. But there is a distiniction between the working class people that i like and those with power. The fact is that those who have power as police, politicians, and business owners have hurt their people by corrupt behavior, and it dosent end with Marcos. Just recently, we saw dozens killed in a political election in the southern islands. When you see little kids with rags asking for money the taxi driver told me that is part of the syndicate. The hotel made me miss my flight to Tokyo with delays about charges for the internet and mini bar, they could have done it the day before. When i arrived in the airport i missed my flight and they were going to charge me $250 canceliation fee. I was bought to the wrong Terminal by the driver. Terminal 1 is for international flights. The workers there like me, as i am generous with tips. But i dont like being hustled, and yes you get that there with some businesses. You maybe a big businessman and travel alot around because of that, you may have some pinoy friends and been to our country long enough to know some of our ways and culture, but you don't know us by heart and you have no right to belittle us pinoys to even say to our face that you laugh at our misfortunes and you are glad that Ondoy came about and ruined our lives. I saw kids urinating in the street. Kids jumping in the back of jeepeneys. I stayed near mabuti street not far from the US Embassy. I was charged P9900 for international calls i didnt make. The Airport charges P750 Terminal Fee. I can even tell you something specific about the airport. When i was flying to Tokyo from Manila at the gate; there is even a little water fountain, they dont allow you to leave the gate again to buy water. In Tokyo, you need to go through security again in all flights. Also in many streets in Manila there are no traffic signs. There are many cars, taxis, jeepneys, and even some mule carriages transporting people. HOW THE F would i know that unless i was there?
