I have been reading some threads about prime here and there. That Pac has fought opponents past their prime.
being prime is subjective.
can we say that you are past your prime when you lost a couple of fight?
if that is the case, then is Manny Pacquiao already past his PRIME (yet he is beating the shit outta hell of his recent opponents)?
If not, people should start saying that Pac is beating opponents past their prime.
Your thoughts?
Then an argument can be made that PAC wasn't even in his prime when he fought MAB. I believe that PAC didn't hit the pinnacle of his career until he fought ODLH. So PAC at a developing level was able to handle a high-level but still slightly below his prime MAB.
I think you need to read my 1st post because I already said that Pac is in his prime now. He's clearly better than he was against MAB. No one will dispute that. Thats why when I talk about him vs Floyd, I only look at the last JMM fight. I think he's much better than he was every fight before then, including the 1st JMM fight and the EM fight. Alot of people think that he's even alot better now than he was against JMM in the 2nd fight and that may be true but I say that you cant say that for sure since his opponents have been so different than JMM. I still think he has some of those flaws in him and that will hurt him against Floyd
It may be subjective but its not hard to tell in 90% of cases. The other guy was right about MAB. Your eyes dont lie. Thats the #1 thing you have to remember. MAB was still fighting at a high level but he wasnt prime MAB when that fight happened. I dont think the Jones fights had much to do with it but he had alot of wars, 2 battles with EM, and then fought some big name cupcakes after that just to pad his resume. Thats still a pretty legit win for Pac though

dont you think pac fought some hard battles? so you mean fighting hard fought battles makes you past PRIME?
geez,.. im silly with these PRIMEs
so this does not count?

shit, even Optimus Prime cannot defeat Pacquiao :boxing:
He already kayoed KingKong. But im favoring Voltes V in a tough 12 rounds. UD for Voltes if he uses the sword.
Skill wise Pacquiao is still learning but he's good enough to be called prime. As far as toughness goes, Manny is past it already. His 122-126 days were when he was at his peak as far as toughness. If Pacquiao had this kind of skill back then, I think he would be much deadlier.
Thats pretty much what you say about anyone in any sport. Everyone is more athletic when younger but wiser when older
as i said, being PRIME is subjective. unless we someone can come up with "meter" that tells you that you are at your PRIME.
sorry for the dumb thread.

That was a stupid remark. Barrera not prime because he lost before??? how idiotic is that?
a Prime Ricky Hatton will always lose to Pacquiao and Floyd. because they are just better than him.
a prime fighter will lose to a fighter who is much better than him. So if he loses some of his primeness will be taken away?? lol
That quote was stupid really.
No offence but this thread is kind of dumb. Anyone can lose, that has nothing to do with your prime. Your prime is just your peak and Pac is definatly in his prime. He's far more devoloped now than in any other point in his career and is fighting at a high level in every way

There's 2 Kind IMO
Physical Prime and Technical
*Very few in fact i dont know anybody maybe except Barrera who Improves technically after winning some belts and pacquiao of course.
Pacquiao is Prime Physically and Technically IMO. Unless he surprises us again.
Barrera had two losses to Junior Jones(one by TKO) and two wars with one loss to Morales when he fought Pacquiao so he was not in his "absolute" prime. I can agree he was close but no way was he in his absolute physical prime.
so this does not count?
