What proof do you have that his hand wasn't infected? Do you have doctors testifying that he's lying? Are his medical records fake? Is he not still saying that he wants a Williams fight in 2010? I'm just saying, for all the chit I've heard talked, from fans of a guy who to be honest has looked very beatable in both the first Quintana fight, and his last fight, why do you think Pavlik is signing up for these fights and then pulling out? To waste promoter's money and time, or to fool his fans? The things that come outta the mouths of some of you is outrageous.
Deal with the fact the injury was legit. He doesn't even feel ready to fight right now. You can tell. He's only doin this to hold his belts. Come 2010 Paul can get it if he wants it.
Dunkin said his hand was improving. Isn't 4 weeks a reasonable amount of time for it to improve? I never heard him say that he was 100% You're making it seem as if Kelly was doing one handed pushups with it, when all that was said was that his hand is improving much better than it had in the past.
If he was getting better and seemed like he was good to go, but only magically he seemed to get worse all of a sudden. Then magically 3 weeks later, he was getting better again.
It was entirely possible that Pavlik could have fought Williams on the 12th of December. It was just 1 week.
so why fight at all then?
Losing belts is regrettable, but if you really have some life threatening fungus or whatever the ****, then too damn bad, you gotta lose them belts till you get better
:lol1::lol1:
The point is even if it was legit, the fool is fighting this guy only 2 weeks after he was supposed to fight Williams. I hope you dont believe that shit about Williams team didnt want to wait 2 weeks. That BS. Anyone knows they wouldve easily waited. The fact is that Pavlik's team tried to just put everything off and then as soon as Williams signed another fight, then they come back and say that Kelly is fine now and we could fight in 2 weeks but its too late because Williams already has another fight. That shit is a joke
Agreed. Anybody who believes that BS is a mark for Kelly Pavlik.
Pavlik: Sorry HBO my staph infection is way too bad right now.
HBO: Ok, Paul, Kelly wants to postpone again.
Williams: Fukk that, I wanna fight.
HBO: ok
Williams: I just signed to fight world champion Sergio Martinez
HBO: Good for you, Paul, should be an excellent matchup!
Pavlik: Oh, so btw my hand is better. And I am going to fight Miguel Espina two weeks after I was supposed to fight Paul Williams....and its gonna be on ppv for $40.
HBO/Williams: WTF?
This is a good example of twisting the truth to make it fit your argument, but it's not what happened.:nono:

With that being said, I dont think Pavlik downright fears Williams. I just think his team felt that he had some hard fights and he deserved to get a couple of cupcakes before jumping back in with the big boys and unlike others, I am totally fine with that. I think you do need time to regroup sometimes. I see this fight happening next because Williams wants the big money and wants to prove himself while Pavlik thinks Williams is overrated after the Quintana & Martinez fights
Cupcake fights? Are you serious?
And you call him overrated after the quintana and martinez fights? he came back and ktfo of Quintana in the 2nd fight, and had a hell of a fight that could be considered FOTY with Martinez who i'm sure could knock Casper the hell out.........
Casper & his team got scared, plain and simple....
1. He isn't the brightest guy, he shoulda stayed on top of things.
2. He postponed because his hand wasn't healed, i think we covered that.
3. Boxers, to my knowledge, do not fight when they knowingly have a staph infection. If you can show me a guy who fought with a staff infection in HIS HAND, I will be bamboozled.
4. He's fighting in December because he is being forced to face a mandatory, as opposed to loosing his belts.so this guy he is fighting is his mandatory for all his titles including the ring middleweight belt?
Here's a good post I did on this:

And another post:
Here's another thing, that is laughable:
Quote:
"You can't help but have concern about the hand, but we've still got six weeks and that gives us enough time to be ready. He's been running and lifting weights because he was trying to push through for the fight with Williams on Dec. 5. He asked if Williams could wait until the 19th and it couldn't be done. We understood. Now he has another chance to go the 19th and he's going to go."
How the **** do you lift weights, when you can't close your hand and lift heavy things.
Here is a condricting statement from Pavlik:
Quote:
“At the Ironman , I could see how much I lost. When you can’t pick up anything heavier than a gallon of milk for two months, it’s going to take a while to get back into it. But we’ll get there. This is an awesome feeling as I am ready to get back into the ring,” Pavlik said.
He can lift weights, but barely lift a gallon of milk
Everyone can say that Williams should shoulder some of the blame for the fight not happening by saying he wasn't willing to have the fight re-scheduled two weeks later. But what you don't realize is, HBO wasn't gonna televise it on December 19. So how could the fight be marketable in that case. Pavlik needs to do something noteworthy to get his cred back if he wants Williams to give him a another chance. He should go after Martinez or Bute. Williams can fight Dzinziruk, Angulo, or Kirkland if he gets out of jail.
Here's a good post I did on this:
You're right, he did something worse. Personally I believe the exagration of the hand injury was a lot worse, then how the hand actually was. The photo was from about a month ago, we have no idea what the hand looks like now. First they said it was healing up great, but then magically it became a lot worse again. Now it's suddenly a lot better.
Plus Pavlik pulled out on October 21, 2009. Here was a quote about the hand:
"It's the same finger giving him problems. They told me he can't make a fist," Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said. "It's getting better and better but it's going a little slow. So, we'll see."
Here is Bob Arum saying that it's going a little slow and how he can't even make a fist. Poor Kelly. And now November 10, 4 weeks later there is this quote:
"We're fighting," said Cameron Dunkin, Pavlik's co-manager. "I have the contract here. The hand is good. He did therapy today and he ran today. The therapy, after three sessions, the hand has gotten much better. is still not closed all the way, but it's so much better. It's really good news. He just can't wait to fight. He really misses this.
Oh so now after 4 weeks, Pavlik is getting a lot better and how convient he has a worse opponent. Not only that, but Pavlik was still running and shit, the december 5th fight was still 3 weeks away. Are you telling me he couldn't fight 2 weeks earlier from December 19th? He needed those two extra weeks?
Well if he needed another weeks, here's another idea, why didn't they move the Diaz-Maliganggi fight to December 5th and then move Pavlik Williams to December 12th? But oh no, of course Pavlik had to fight on December 19th because that's the date he'll get magically better by and HBO doesn't have a TV date for the 19th.

3. Boxers, to my knowledge, do not fight when they knowingly have a staph infection. If you can show me a guy who fought with a staff infection in HIS HAND, I will be bamboozled.
4. He's fighting in December because he is being forced to face a mandatory, as opposed to loosing his belts.
Well if he isnt the smartest guy than i guess he heed his doctor advise and not miss doctor appointments. Afterall, dosent he want to get in treated? Staph Infections usually are not serious unless the bacteria move from a break in the skin into the bloodstream. This can lead to infections in other parts of the body, such as the lungs, bones, joints, heart, blood, and central nervous system. I dont think Pavlik has that issue and he has access to top notch healthcare.
He postponed not once but twiced, and after missing doctor appointments. Fighters have fought with worse injuries suffered while trainning, most prevalent being cuts that re open at fight day. Fighters have fought with broken bones and ligaments and shoulder injuries.
I understand postponing once but a second time shows incompetence by him or his doctors. He claimed he had a reaction after surgery but we never saw such evidence. People in his hometown even suspected he was on drugs or had alcohol problems. Funny, now he is recovered and will fight one week after the scheduled PW fight. It just seems odd and i think his fans by not buying tickets or paying for the PPV will vote with their wallets.

If losing his belts is his only concern, that is not good. His health, your primary argument, should have come first. His health was the reason why he got out of the fight with Williams and should also be the reason why he should have not taken the mandatory. **** the belts, he should still be the lineal champion ( IMO, better than the alphabets ). I'm a big Pavlik fan before and supported him even when he lost to Bhop. I cannot reconcile his decision not to fight Pwill then get a fight 1-2 weeks later after Pwill signed another fight. I'm not saying he is scared of Pwill but IMO that is bad decision making and a huge PR hit. That is not the Pavlik that I was a fan of. Willing to take risk and trying his best to give us a good fight. If the staph infection is really bad, he could lose to Espino. It is better to lose to Pwill than lose to Espino IMO.
All of you are making the same rediculous claim that he ever claimed he was better. Even in the Espino press conference, a few weeks after the fight was signed, he was saying his hand was "starting to get back to normal". He never said even a few weeks after the Williams-Martinez signing that it was fine. None of you are making legit points whatsoever.
so why fight at all then?
Losing belts is regrettable, but if you really have some life threatening fungus or whatever the ****, then too damn bad, you gotta lose them belts till you get better
So basically he's fine to fight, just not Paul Williams. Or anyone else decent. Or with a pulse. Or in the top 100.
Ya know, I'm just gonna stop responding. Every one of you has made the same exact false claim that Kelly said he was fine to fight.
One simple question why miss doctor appointments if he has a staph infection? Why postponed twice? His docs couldnt cure it the first time? Have boxers fought with worse injuries than a staph infection? if injury is so bad why still fight in december? Maybe it is because its easier to fight a bum than PW?

How did he magically get better in like 1 week, enough to start training to fight espino..it was literally 1 week i think
