Noted, but Marciano was busy geting his face cracked, so that was entertaining in it's own right. The reason he's on so many ATG list's is because he's white, and you know " every time we talk about boxing, the white man got bring up Rocky Marciano!" -Barbershop scene, "Coming to America".
So your saying that even if Floyd dismantles the "fighter of the decade", "Hero of Asia", "Most popular fighter on the planet" "8 division champ" Manny Pacquiao, that he can't be considered greater than Pacquiao because Mayweather is 2 inches taller?
I'm asking because the guy in this picture below does not look all that much heavier than Pacquiao.

What kind of guy wear a belt over his boxer.

just got here but, i kind of agree w/ grant on this one. yes, floyd would have beaten pac but, his legacy is insignificant. his knock down/ drag 'em out battles are few and far between, his taking on of seemingly insurmountable match-ups....non-existent and oh yes, let's not forget........nobody likes him. floyd's name doesn't ....DOES NOT! belong anywhere near likes of Ali, Frazier, Robinson, Patterson, Walcot, Louis (Joe), Hagler, Hearns, Etc.. The guy is a loud mouth arrogant Hood (b)rat. His uncle is street, His dad, his cousins are street, floyd is a punk. Sh-t! Roy Jones is higher on my list.
I love how people think their OPINIONS SPEAK FOR ALL! hahahaha
Were is the OFFICIAL ALL TIME RANKING THAT EVERYONE TALKS ABOUT??? IT DON'T FUKING EXISIST!
ALL RANKINGS ARE JUST OPINIONS! People put them together for fun...but NONE OF THEM ARE OFFICIAL!
thats just dumb. 140/147 it doesnt matter. it will not change anything. both fighters are more than viable at 147. they are the best at the weight. to say otherwise is foolish.
Im just saying PBF is naturally bigger than Pac and if he beats Pac, it wont make FLoyd this generations best. Morales beat Pac, and Morales aint this generations best as well. Morales is a helluva fighter, but not better than Pac.
Neither would floyd be if he beats pac.
If he beats Pac, Pac is still above Floyd this generation. Pacs performances and resume is too way out there for Floyd.
Plus Floyd is bigger than Pac. If Floyd beat Pac at 140 that would be better than beating him at 147. But we know Floyd cant come down or isnt willing to go to 140 and is rather cautios at 154 even.

I think some of his trepidation may have come about after he fought DeMarcus Corley and was stunned in his first fight at 140 and realized, "Hey, these bigger guys hit hard."
His career hasn't been as fulfilling as some would hope, but he still proved that he was at least the second best of his generation (and best if he fights Pacquiao and wins).

He waited for quite some time for somebody to mention his name but to no avail. So, Ms. Gayweather got tired of waiting took upon himself to proclaim without blinking an eye that he's an ATG. :spankme:
lol...balls really are very important to have if you wanna be great...
Floyd Mayweather Jr. earned his way into Canastota before he even went to 140. If you look at his hit list at 130 and 135, he didn't avoid anyone and took on every challenge, save for Joel Casamayor and Acelino Freitas.

you know what gets me?.....ive never seen or heard of any boxing historian/analyst that has called floyd jr an atg.......not sayin he aint but how come he does'nt get mentioned , only on forums.....

lol. Morons like this guy actually believed that Floyd really wanted to fight Manny.
Now, they're more interested in blood tests, than an actual fight.
Ofcourse you didnt say " that manny really wanted to fight Floyd".
:pat:
But its more smoke and mirrors. He did well to get his name established, and then he lived off of his name. He didnt fight often, (therefore didnt lose) and just automatically stayed there. Just like his recent comeback from retirement, he has been no2 without doing anything. But hes quite right been taking off now.
Just like fedor been champ for 1o years. He only stretched that out that long cos he went years without actually fighting hardly.
Yes because Fedor sucks and was never actually dominant.
:pat:
Yes a guy who has been a Top 8 P4P fighter 12 out of the 14 years hes been a pro is NOT an ATG.
Gotcha.

Youve bumped this thread up again. I think you realize i dont make many threads so am not a troll or fanboy.
you sound kinda silly to be completely honest.
Floyd and Manny are about to fight EACH OTHER, what's the fuss?
:dunno:

go up tp 154 to beat De La Hoya and gain 6th world championship
have the highset selling boxing PPV in history
knock out Ricky Hatton while he was undefeated
come back after a two year layoff and dominate the #2 p4p guy
and have the first PPV to do a million PPV buys in 2009
But he beat the undefeated hatton at 147, with home advantage and having a good talk to the referee before the fight to tell the ref to make sure he protects him from hatton. Hatton was basically fighting in Germany against Floyd.
Picture hatton trying to beat Sven Ottke! PBF will not get any credit for beating Hatton. He put all the advantages in his favour to get the victory. But i still picked Hatton but i knew it was going to be really hard to overcome PBF with all the advantages he had. I underestimated PBF at the time.
Both fighter are now being considered cream of the crop why would you think PBF will not become ATG?.
They will be the Leonard/Duran/Hearns/Hagler of this era...
Actually i dont think PBF will be a high ATG like Pac. I do think he is an ATG. Read my first post in this thread.
cotto, williams, mosley, clottey, @147 ?????
Cotto on some real shit Cotto could have fought Floyd but Cotto let Margarito whoop his ass so really Cotto dropped the ball and thats the real reason Cotto never fought Floyd if you want to be real
Williams that middleweight actin like a welterweight who got his ass whooped by Quintana come on now who is he?? the most feared man?? yeah right nobody scared of his ass its just he doesn't bring nothing to the table he has never even been on PPV this guy can't even pick a weight class most people don't even know who he is so get real thats all risk and no reward
Mosley if i remember correctly Floyd said he was willing to go to 147 and fight Shane Mosley but Mosley tooth was hurtin and then Shane lost to Cotto so he wasn't even poppin back then like he is now he is just now getting his name hot agian and yet he still fight on HBO Boxing After Dark
Clottey??? who is Clottey???? what has he done??? who has he beat??? Judah? Corrales? Floyd been beat them Clottey need to get his name up first he a nobody i mean he lost to Margarito gave the fight away against Cotto and i dont think he has been on PPV yet neither maybe a undercard but he has no name
now Pacquiao is the #1 P4P he does the best PPV numbers has a title at 147 and brings the most money to the table so why should or would Floyd fight anybody else? it doesn't make since
Let alone a higher ATG than Pac? Can you be a high ATG without having fought anyone close to great in your whole career?
His 3 biggest names are Hatton, DLH and JMM.
Hatton was fighting at 147. If PBF didnt want people to criticise him he would have taken hatton at 140. But at the time PBF wasnt thinking clearly and about his legacy, and people not criticing him. All he wanted to do was give himself the best opportunity to beat hatton, which he wasnt sure he could at 140. That is a chicken to me, and not someone who was willing to take risks. It was someone who doubted his own abilities. Not someone who will go down as an ATG. Him fighting JMM is the same.
He barely beat a past it DLH. Pac showed how you should deal with past it champions. Without making excuses about how good the DLH was that fought PBF and the DLH who fought Pac. DLH signed the contract to fight Pac at 147. He is a grown man and knew what he was doing. He thought he could beat Pac, as did everyone else.
When youl look at it. If PBF even makes the ATG list, he will have overachieved and be proud of himself.
