Now lets take a look at results of three Cotto & Mayweathers fights, with common opponents, so that we can make an educated decision as to who is the harder puncher.
Mayweather vs Victoriano Sosa: 12 Rd Decision
Mayweather vs DeMarcus Corely: 12 Rd Decision
Mayweather vs Zab Judah: 12 Rd Decision
I know, exciting huh?
OK, lets continue...
Cotto vs Victoriano Sosa: TKO 4
Cotto vs DeMarcus Corely: TKO 5
Cotto vs vs Zab Judah: TKO 11
Now, it's clear that Cotto is the harder puncher of the two. And Manny walked through Cotto's best shots. So for those of you saying that Floyd is going to stop Wapakman, I simply ask you this:
HOW?
To suggest that Floyd can't possibly hurt Pac, and that Pac will just walk through him is naive at the very least. These are professional fighters but they're only human and can be hurt.
Saying Cotto didn't hurt him so Floyd can't either is also naive. Cotto is much much slower than Floyd, and only really has the left hook as a power punch and Pac could see that coming a mile away (yet still got tagged by it a few times).
Floyd will NOT be throwing 10 punches a round in this fight, he simply will have to be a lot more active as Pac will keep coming forwards, but the accuracy and speed of Floyd's counters could well start to accumulate on Pac in the later rounds.
I also think Pac could hurt Floyd and quite possibly will at some point in the fight, but to suggest it's a walkover for either fighter or that PAC can't be hurt is ridiculous and biased.
wobbled hoya?.........he could'nt even finish jmm at his weakest and slowest weight.........floyd aint got nothing to seriously hurt packy but packy does and that is why floyd will run all night which might save him from getting ktfo.......
So true... Good post. He tried to come in on Marquez after the knockdown and JMM checked him with two hooks, after that Floyd went back to doing his thing... jab, potshot, hold, run.

If you really believe Pac can't be hurt by Mayweather go get your head examined. Dude wobbled DLH with 10 oz gloves @ 154 with......... you guessed it, short counter punches that you don't see coming.
You have the wrong idea about this when you defend against a volume puncher you don't defend by running or standing still and using the shoulder roll. you defend by making them feel your punches or keeping them off balance with the jab. When a guy is coming at you with the foot speed that manny has shown in the past you have to let your hands go and make him pay while coming in. So that you he slows his rate. If manny shows the heart that he has in the past(ie. marquez 1&2) he will continue to come forward and thus take more punishment and Floyd's conditioning will make it possible.
pacquiao doesnt "just" come forward, he has more patience now, if youre still living in the times when he fought marquez well he had moved on and fought other fighters. and each time we, at least i, saw improvements. manny counterpunches too, and he also have fast hands, some say even faster than floyd. floyd should not be overconfident of his speed, the worst mistake floyd can commit is to underestimate pacquiao because he can ko floyd even in the first round. i got this feeling that pacman will do more baiting and counterpunching, hell not rush in just like that, hell wait for opportune time to pressure floyd. hell do a lot of feinting to confuse floyd. the unpredictability of manny and the angles will give him advantages over floyd.
i want you to keep believing your theory---so when floyd ko's or tko's manny in 8 rounds or less---you'll understand a little better why floyd is leagues above cotto, hatton, oscar, and jmm....pac is getting stopped by floyd...you better believe it...
And how will he do this? If you possess the mental capacity, would you care to explain?

I actually think Floyd's power, speed and accuracy is going to be more dangerous than Cotto - If Pac gets caught alot and starts getting backed up(Manny cant fight effectively going backwards) then its Floyds fight
Pac 4th round KO on Cotto was going backwards..
it's the punches you dont see that hurt you the most... and Floyd will provide the punches that Manny dont see
Yet more boxers complain about not seeing Manny Punches...
thats the thing, you gotta be able to hurt pac to make him punch less, and floyd doe'snt have that kind of offense.......
Good Post! As soon as Wapakman knew he could take Cotto's punch it was over for Miguel. Floyd won't be able to hurt Manny. I see Floyd doing good for the first half of the fight, but Manny will be pressing him the entire time making Floyd fight at a rate that he's uncomfortable with.
He'll make Floyd throw more in 6 rounds than he normally does in a 12 round fight. After about 6 rounds, we'll see Floyd uncharacteristically tired and beatup, then Manny takes over. Manny by decision with a late round sweep or TKO/Stoppage.

Well,
Corley was knocked down 6 times by Mayweather when they fought.
Judah was on his way to getting KO'd before he low-blowed Mayweather.
And Sosa had a good start, but it turned into a one-sided fight in favor of Mayweather.
So, I wouldn't say a stoppage is out of the question.
Let's not forget the rabbit punch.
Floyd doesn't need to hurt him, I don' think he can but I think he has enough power to command Mannys respect. Manny won't go in there hands down, chin up and not care about Mayweathers power because if he does he'll get countered to death.
If theres a KO it'll be from Manny (or cuts) unless Manny suddenly forgets defence. If Floyd wins it'll be a decision. Floyd is an excellent technician it would be stupid to count him out of this race. Not just stupid, if you were giving Floyd little to no chance you must be a moron and vice versa
Just like the ones that stopped Sosa, Corley & Judah? Oh, nevermind.

Accuracy, timing, varying his punches.
Floyd does all those better than Cotto. He mightn't knock him out, in fact I doubt he does just because Manny is such a tough guy. But all he needs is to get Manny's attention. Oscar didn't find Floyd's punches damaging, but he still couldn't find a way to win the fight. Manny is a different proposition to Oscar though.
