Floyd could win...if he survives the first two rounds.

Lol trust me...If pac comes out swinging like a maniac in the first round the fight will be over quickly...and the winner will not be from the Philipines..He would either get tagged and dropped or exposed to the fact that he can't penetrate mayweathers defense and be frustrated the rest of the nite I still kinda doubt that... the Pac that would come out in round one would be similar to the first round of DLH vs Pac. He'll start out very cautious. from then on that's where the fight materializes. If Pac's faints/parry/baits work then expect Floyd to adjust mid way through the fight. If it doesn't, then it's DLH vs PBF all again... again, I could always be wrong...

good post!!!! Thanks Man! I'm just trying to make a decision on this fight... Like most gamblers, it's emotion that gets in the way. I try to just look at every possible angle, then think from there. I'm a Pac fan but this fight right here is more of a chess match IMO. The main thing that would give Pac the edge is preparation and strategy. I know plenty of people here on BS dislike Roach... but you just have to hand it to the man, he just knows how to prepare fighters, provided they do what he says. I truly believe that Roach sees something to exploit with Floyd. For those rooting for Pac I guess its best to hope that he sees what Roach sees. As for Floyd, if Pac does not follow the game plan which I honestly think would be an assortments of faints/baits/parry's then it would look like something like the De La Hoya fight for Floyd. Watching that fight (DLH vs PBF) with all honesty Oscar had a chance. He just didn't have the confidence. If you listen to Roach he keeps on saying that Oscar needs to set the jab up or make it seem like a semi faint to bait Floyd. Oscar saw what Roach saw... He just couldn't do it... Maybe that's why Roach said Oscar can't pull the trigger anymore... Again, just my two cents...

This thread ain't for bashing neither of these two all time greats. I'm simply interested in seeing who else agrees with me. I think there might actually be a small chance that Pac obliterates Floyd within the first two rounds IF Manny goes for the kill from the first second. Now, Floyd's defense is brilliant and shouldn't be forgotten for the next 100 years or so, but how many punches can a human possibly dodge? He COULD counter, but Pac's got a decent enough chin and should be able to withstand more punches than Floyd. In other words...if it turns out to be a tit-for-tat situation Floyd should most likely go down first. If not Floyd could probably win by UD(based on his brilliance at the sweet science that is boxing!) Opinions ? Pac will definitely be aggressive in the early rounds, but at the same time, he will be more cautious. The key for Pac is controlling himself, he has improved in recognizing when to attack and when to back off. Floyd has always been great at this. If he doesn't KO or at least hurt Floyd by the 6th or 7th, Floyd will probably figure him out. If that happens, Floyd by SD.

Well to be fair on both fighters... I see this going both ways, and that the outcome of the fight would depend on both fighters ability not to adjust but to anticipate. The way I see it is that if Manny tries to faint and/or do a faint/parry to get Floyd to commit to a counter then moving in to bust the most, a 3 punch combo would be the key for the Pacman. Veiwing some of Floyd's fights it seems that he is just to fast for his opponents. However with the Zab Judah fight, I saw that Floyd tries to out think Zab and making him attack more than he expected, trying to read Zab's faints. On the other hand, Floyd's key to the fight is to out think Pac (which is very possible) and try to anticipate his faints more and baiting him to move in. If Floyd faints then steps back making Pac commit to move forward then throw his straight right then things would be a whole lot different. Just my two cents...

You can't be serious. If Cotto didn't panic, what makes you think Mayweather will. Idiot. Cotto did and it resulted in 2 knock downs. After that, he kept himself composed (backpedaling his way back into the fight), but it was too late. Cotto's punches couldnt hurt Pac. I could see a similar thing happening but Floyd wouldn't be knock down too early. When he finally figures out Pacquiao, it'll be too late...

floyd definently throws enough punches, that is a stupid argument, floyd doesnt let his hands go, he throws when he knows hes gunna hit thats why his compubox numbers are outrageous floyd will throw far less punch, but will make them count alot more like he always does its rule of thumb that if you land 50% of your power punches, you will win the fight, its not umcommon to see floyd land over 60% floyd will get outworked. the main judging criteria is clean punching, not clean running.

He'll be able to condition himself and keep his composure as the fight goes on, but as the punches by Pac builds up, it'll be tough for Floyd to fight a smart fight. In 1-2 rounds they will just trying to measure there range, but i expect manny will try to get in with a power punch to the body then out. In the 3rd Manny will used his four strong winds to demolished Mayweather if he still standing at four the fight will go to the last quarter mayweather stamina is usually getting weaker his counter punch is not effective anymore, mannys stamina still strong to the end of the round, Mayweather will be KOd in this rounds. Mayweather has no chance winning even if the fight will go distance manny will throw more punches than before in this fight. This will be the greatest fight of all.

if manny gets to carried away right away, floyd will counter the hell out of pac. pac needs to go in there and try to box w/ floyd a lil, until he gets floyd on the ropes and then start throwing punches in bunches.

I think that for Manny it would be at his advantage if the fight is over quickly.
