I'm all about self confidence and self pride but when it gets to the point when you are trying to discredit the legends of yesterday who have pave the way and paid the price so you can display your skill and generate the amount of money you do is where I cross the line. Mayweather made a comment about Ali had five losses. Ok to defend Ali, all his losses were to future, former, or newly decorated champions. He loss to Frazier, Norton, Spinks, Holmes, and Berbick. One thing you can't take away from Ali is that he fought everybody and went into hostile territory with the title and came out the winner. Another sidenote is that he has never had a rematch clause in none of his contracts. Then he goes and talks about the great Ray Robinson. Ray Robinson is probaly not only the greatest welterweight in history but the greatest pound for pound fighter as well. Floyd talks about his 19 losses. But when Robinson retired the first time he retired on top with the record of 128-1-2 84KO over a twelve year span. So when he came back of course he came back for financial reason at the age of 34 and for that time and the many fights he has had he was already over the hill. But this man cameback and won the middleweight title 4 more times. To me thats impressive. He was the fighter of the year in 1942 and 1951 and fought the great Hall of Fame fighters such as Jake LaMotta, Carmen Basilio, Gene Fullmer, Carl 'Bobo' Olson, Henry Armstrong, Rocky Graziano and Kid Gavilan. All in total Mr. Robinson fought 200 fights finishing with a record of
173-19-6-108KO. All I have to say when you have the two greatest heavyweight champions of all time, Joe Louis and Muhammad Ali both tells the world that Ray Robinson is the greatest fighter who ever lived, who can dispute that?
Once he reached the top, he decided to cruise. Instead of focusing on winning, he just concentrated on ways not to lose. At the same time, he kept talking like he was the best, but repeatedly found ways not to prove it. Once Pac took his spot at the top, he started hatin, instead of fighting him. That's biitch-made behavior right there.
Im not out to win this debate. I just never hated a man I didnt know. Thats honest.
bullfukkingsh1t......if you dont hate hitler, youre just as racist as he was....
When is the last time Floyd executed millions. Dumb ass comparison. And to be honest no I dont hate Hitler. I dont think about Hitler. If anything I do feel sorry for him being so wrong about creating a master race. The same way I feel about you and your views of Mayweather.
fukk hitler......you and me both hate that motherfukker but we've never met him....the point is you dont have to meet the person to hate him when you know what he's doing...most of floyd's actions that make people hate him is all documented....the hate towards floyd is mostly becuase of his own actions man......
Are you retarded? People hate him because he claims to be THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME when he hasn't even fought THE GREATEST IN HIS OWN DIVISION. Worse than that-- he hasn't fought ANYBODY in his own division. That is why people hate him and wow that only took 5 seconds of critical thinking glad you started a thread about it.
This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I keep hearing everybody say "I respect his skills" but "I hate the man". You dont know the man. That sh*t is weird as hell. As a Floyd fan I would feel really stupid saying I like the way Pacquiao fights but I hate him and never even met the dude. How can a fight fan hate a boxer because he talks sh*t to his opponent? He aint the first and wont be the last. So what if he has disdain for media, its reciprecated and he took a bashing before he ever got irritated. Or hate because he "doesnt fight the best"? Thats because these guys are "great" until it becomes apparent that they dont stand a chance. To me it boils down to "stay in your place black boy". America aint changed much as the world thinks.
have you ever met adolf hitler?.......do you not hate him?....
Floyd brings hate on himself with his antics. Personally I love watching him box, I just wish he would be more active and fight more quality opponents. He has one win of significance in the last 39 months. And this was AFTER he became the box-office draw with more leverage and financial power to get the opponents he wants.
It's ridiculous though when people compare him to Ali with his mouth and act like Ali wasn't offensive with his words. Ali is the guy who not only called Joe Frazier an Uncle Tom and gorilla, but also called Jackie Robinson and Joe Louis Uncle Toms. He said that Muslims who married non-Muslins should be KILLED.
"Oh, but Ali just said things for fun, they weren't mean-spirited"
Yeah, sure.
How can you even hate someone you don't even know personally? Just as love and respect are earned, hate is earned. There's nobody to blame but yourself.
