that accomplish something that is comparable to this.
From Nov 15, 2003 up to March 19, 2005 Manny pacquiao took on Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Manuel Marquez and Erik Morales. That's 16 Months.
From May 2, 2009 to March 13, 2010 you've got Ricky hatton, Miguel Cotto and Floyd Mayweather Jr. That's 10 months
*Before Hatton ODLH is suppose to Knock Pacquiao out
Is there any other fighter in history that has fought the Highest quality opponents in such short periods? There's SRR againts Basilio and Fullmer but that's just 2 styles of fighters. Roberto Duran needed 29 months to go through Wilfred Benitez, Marvin Hagler and Thomas Hearns.
Just to illustrate an example. Its like
-Floyd fighting Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito in succession
-Tito Trinidad taking on Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones and James Toney
-Duran taking on Wilfred Benitez, SRL and Thomas Hearns in 16 months
Id like to hear it from the historians here...........
-ITS an INCREDIBLE FEAT by itself
What'choo talkin' about Willis. Oscar threw about 500 punches. Barely any landed, but that's credit to Manny for being hard to hit in that fight. Throwing almost 500 punches in 8 rounds isn't that bad. You know what Oscar's problem was? Fear. He was terrified of throwing because Manny always beat him to the punch and hurt him. Watch the fight again and think of the word "FEAR" when you watch Oscar. Same as Cotto. These guys crap themselves and freeze up because they know they will get beaten to the punch.
Thank you!
well..first of all...morales and barrera weren't exactly in their prime...they both killed each other before they fought pacman.....oscar de la hoya is an idiot because he chose to fight at 147 for some stupid reason, anyone who saw the fight can cleary see de la hoya was drained and could barely throw a punch

It is also true that four of Manny's illustrious victims had already been knocked out by the time he fought them: Barrera, De La Hoya, Hatton, and Cotto. Morales was the only legend Pacquiao stopped who hadn't been stopped before.
It means nothing.
"Oh. Why, Sam?"
Because Manny was KO'd twice himself. AKA the "leftovers" of Singsurat and Torrecampo. Maybe Morales too, since he "schooled" Manny to a very close decision.
That's why -- if Mayweather were to beat Pacquiao -- this guy 'Smelodies (OG)' has no right to ever give him credit.

Bonavena, Ellis and Quarry doesnt make the Grade. Bonavena scoring KD's againts Frazier doesnt count. Did Bona and Quarry even won some championships? :D
that's Humberto Sotto, Edwin Valero and Joan Guzman of today at least these 3 won alphabets.
pfffffffft
Manny is a beast and deserves the kudo's he has reaped. But there were fighters who took on other fighters who were also great during a similar time frame. Barney Ross comes to mind as does Henry Armstrong. Im only going by memory, but I would bet their feats were similar. No knock on Pac who is a modern day beast.
Thanks for that post I'll search for them :D

HAHAHAHA
Barrera is Prime. p4p the best in the world. After the lost to Pac he wont on another streak en route to his 3rd title in a higher division
Morales just beat pacquiao a few months before so what the **** are you talking about?
Bruseless, Gatti and Shramba Mitchell in 10 months :D
LOL!! easy work, easy money. i wonder why pretty floyd changed his name to money at when manny pacquiao's popularity was rising up to the level hes now, maybe hes hoping when mentioning manny it will sound like hes the one being talked about(did not see any thread talk about this), just a thought, yeah brus...,gatti.. mitchell easy work easy money.

I agree.
But Ali fought Liston on a different period and
Barrera was #1 Featherweight. Marquez was either #2 or #3
Nah man, I meant top 10 heavyweight of all time. All the fighters I mentioned were top 10 heavyweights at the time they fought Ali.
Junior Jones knocked out Barrera. I don't understand what you mean by your other two points, they were stopped, plain and simple.
fail fail fail junior jones did not knock out Barrera, where did u get this from it was a DQ, even though he did knock him down in just before
Chuvalo is on Hatton's level though. During the golden age of the heavyweights he's bound to get a couple losses.
I agree.
Foreman, Frazier, and Liston are top 5 or 10 heavyweights, no one Pacquiao fought in those streaks are top 10 at the weight he fought them at.

Yes. That's a good one. but i dont think Chuvalo was at that level. and Basically that's 2 fighters (Liston and Patterson) in 3 fights.

From 2-25-1965 to 3-29-1966: Sonny Liston (2x), Floyd Patterson, and George Chuvalo.

From 9-10-1973 to 10-30-1974: Ken Norton, Joe Frazier, and George Foreman.
Muhammad Ali
Ali's would be Norton, Frazier and Foreman in 14 months but Norton is a level below.
From 2-2-1980 to 12-13-1980: Danny Lopez (2x), Ruben Castillo, and Juan LaPorte.
From 8-21-1981 to 7-21-1982: Wilfredo Gomez and Azumah Nelson.
Salvador Sanchez

Prime Fighters yes but they're not in the same level.
Barrera is at least TOP 3 p4p
JMM is belted (WBA, IBF )
Morales just beat Pacquio couple of months earlier WTF
Im not talking about HOW Pac did againts them. The mere FACT that he fought them in 16 months is shocking enough. again Quarry, Bonavena and Ellis doesnt make it.
Ali's would be Norton, Frazier and Foreman in 14 months but Norton is a level below.
:D
ehhh......
pacquiao #200-250 all-time
ali #1
all 4 guys ali fought were in their prime.
ali went 3-1.
ali did it in 9 months after a 3 1/2 year layoff.
bonavena , quarry and ellis might not have been champions but they fought in the same division as ali , frazier , liston , foreman , norton.
there also wasn't much belts around to be had.
pacquiao went 1-1-1 and it was in 16 months.
morales was no longer prime. some say barrera was past it as well.
