Cotto torn pac's right ear drum during the fight, but it has been reported that he has suffered from this injury since training camp.
This means that the injury is chronic , like concussions and spranged wrists/ ankles, it will never heal back to 100%, it will be prone to more damage, and less resistant, sustain damage more easily and with each succeeding blow, the accumulation of wear and tear compounds.
simply put, his right ear is shot. notice how pac couldn't even hear max kellerman's interview after cotto's fight, he had to lean in very close just to make the words audible.
Med school eh lol , you need to go to fight school , the ear is nothing !!
A cauliflower ear occurs when capillaries in the external ear is torn and and damaged, fluids leak into the surrounding tissue. the macroscopic manifestation of this phenomenon is swelling and disfigurement that you can visually observe. If the fluid is not disposed of, it will collect in crevices and that is hazardous, the pressure from this collection will likely prevent the healing process of these capillaries. Thus the exterior tissue is starved of nutrients, most cells in turn will starve to death, some might undergo apoptosis. Visually you will see the ear as rotting away, so..the ear becomes nothing !! YOU ARE RIGHT

what about the diagnoses from his hand? Is it o.k. was it broken?
Jose,
The fake medical student who can't spell along with the other midgets are claiming "eardrum".
This is AFTER the doctor said that it was a very minor cartilage injury.
Pac is fine. Thankfully.
As if the doctor would have cleared him to go perform at a loud concert with a ruptured eardrum.
Under what pretenses do you accuse me of false proclamation? if all you have to support your claim is a misspelled word, then I'm sorry but that can hardly be considered as evidence.
Onto the matter at hand then. The exterior of the ear is a vital piece of human tissue, it contributes to our auditory senses by amplifying and concentrating the sound into the ear canal. Kind of like when you manipulate a piece of paper into a cylinder and talk into one end, the magnitude of the sound is increased when exiting the other.
So one would assume that Pac's hearing problems that occurred during the post-fight interview is due to the disfigurement of the exterior cartilage. However, it has been proven that this amplification process from the external cartilage is only applicable to sound waves/pressure at a minimum distance of 20 feet. Pac was standing < 1 feet away from Max Kellerman at the interview and still had difficulty hearing Kellerman's words. This proves that pac's auditory malfunction originates from internal structural damage of the ear. Because at close proximity the amplification contributed by the external ear is negligible.
To address the official statements, personally I would rather believe Pac when he is telling me that he has hearing problems rather then the media broadcasting other wise. As we all know, the boxing media's interest is in its business, the disclosure of the objective truth comes second.
AND...
BoxingScene.com, insidesports.ph, Standard Today and Viva Sports learned that Dr. Roth who is a plastic surgeon had to drain more blood on the day after the fight along with some fluid to prevent the blood from hardening and causing a cauliflower ear, similar to that of some wrestlers.
The Executive Director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, lawyer Keith Kizer told us that after the fight both boxers were in good spirits and there were no major concerns. At the same time Kizer made it clear that Dr. Roth does not work for the NSAC but was brought in by Top Rank.
Manny Pacquiao DOES NOT have a ruptured eardrum
Here's more food for thought.
Pacman injury not a cause for alarm
by Ronnie Nathanielsz
DR. Jeffrey J. Roth, the plastic surgeon, who treated Filipino boxing hero Manny Pacquiao after his "Fire Power" showdown with World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Miguel Cotto to drain some blood from his right ear, said the bleeding was far from the boxer's brain and there's no cause for concern.
In an exclusive interview with www.insidesports.ph, Standard Today and Viva Sports, Dr. Roth allayed concerns among Filipino boxing fans following reports that some blood and fluid had to be drained from Pacquiao?s ear, first after he scored a 12th-round TKO over Cotto, and then the following day.
Dr. Roth said he understood the concern. Manny is a terrific representative of the Filipino people. He is a great fighter and I have always found him to be a great person as well.

Jose,
Pinoys are neither boxing fans nor knowledgeable about the sport. If you go to other (non Pac, non-Floyd) threads, you will see that they seldom post in those. Or they try to infuse Pacquiao into an irrelevant thread.
They are fans of one person. Not the sport.
Stop generalizing you di*kless idiot. She likes to dish it but the moment I tried to give her a taste of her own medicine she puts me on ignore. What a freakin hypocrite.
exactly. I don't know why the pac nuthuggers keep making issues out of non-issues.
Pac has a cauliflower ear, not a busted eardrum. No single doctor that's treated Pac has said it's an eardrum problem.
Both guys have agreed to 8oz gloves, yet there's threads still being made about Floyd and 10oz gloves.
wtf?
lol at your sig.
Thats not even a shoulder roll!!! and maybe the only punch landed clean in that fight.
a shoulder roll is when he ROLLS his shoulder OVER his chin for a punch coming from the RIGHT hand.
As you can see its a left being thrown and he didnt protect with his right hand.
how long did it take you to find that little clip to try and make you feel better about the upcoming fight?
I dont hate pacquiao i just hate people who dont know shit.
Nice loooooong post trying to make yourself feel better.
You love my sig don't you?
I am sure his medical team has given him clearance for the fight. The inner ear has a major role in equilibrium and his balance could be compromised if he had a major ear injury. I personally think it is likely that he was hit in the ropes when he suffered the injury as if it was in the middle of the ring he may have been KD and the ropes might have helped stayed up. But i think they may also be playing a little possum and faking the injury so maywather may go gung ho and than get set up for a "roach trap."
I think the bodywork that Cotto did will be more important than the ear problem. Many people don't realize that part of the reason Margarito got KOd by Mosley was due to the work Cotto had done; it took something out of him. The removal of the plaster of paris and also the blows by cotto combined with Mosley's power made the Margocheater get kod for the first time.
I'd have thought that such an ear injury includes some damage to the ear drum. I dont think March is ideal and Roach knows it. The eardrum is an incredibly important part of the body (not just for hearing )- damage affects balance (and lateral movement). Lets hope that when training camp starts in January that the ear is 100%
how do yall know its a girl? i meen he/she did call you sweety but on this website i wouldnt doubt some dude would say some shit like that.
Like I said earlier, I would bet my left testicle that she doesn't have one.

even worse a guy that wants to be publicly recognized as a female. kinda like drag queens but more cowardice because they have no balls to do it in real life.
What a hypocrite. She put me on ignore for "disrespecting" her just because I said she was making excuses for Salita's loss. It's quite obvious this idiot is trying to "disrespect" bbos with the above post but it's ok because she's the one dishing it. I would bet my left testicle that GG is a 13 yr old girl on her first period.
to attack one's spelling online is a obvious sign of a verbal checkmate, its a red herring, a last resort to keep one's dignity and ego simply because she has nothing left to challenge my position.

Thank you.

he'll be 110 percent vs Floyd, sure didn't bother him during Cotto fight.
