I know in the past this was considered plenty of time, but to have a level playing field we have to understand that THIS IS NOW, and given that he had a VERY HARD FIGHT with a BIG GUY, and Floyd just had a walk in the park with a much smaller guy, is it reasonable for Pac to take some extra recovery time and not come into the fight disadvantaged due to the above mentioned factors?
March is too early.
Its enough time to promote it, and Pacquiao needs time to heal/train/develop an effective skillset against Floyd. Early May or late April is the way to go...
Floyd's a gym junkie and shouldn't have a problem with having to wait other than ring rust from the fight with Marquez
No I wouldn't.
Yes. That's why Floyd wants to fight him then. Has Floyd ever done 3 MEGA fights in 10 months? Would you expect him (or any other fighter) to?
Exactly, I think Larry X fails to understand that Pac is a far greater more diverse achiever than Floyd, and that puts him under a lot greater pressure, with big mental demands that Floyd doesn't have.
We have to take into consideration Pac, (or any other boxer), has no "obligations" or time frames he's expected to fulfil. He does have a life outside the ring, (a very active one too), and i agree with Bogler that
QUOTE="he's an actor, singer, politican to be, but i wouldnt say he's good. unlike floyd who knows only one thing and contented as long he can roll in his bed of money, pac's a totally different person.
i said the fight could be done. but these things i mentioned are facts and WILL happen in manny's life from now till may, whether there's a fight or not."
Manny has the right to take as much time as he wants, even though his fans, (and also his haters) want to see him fight as soon as possible. Hey, the guy is in demand! Lol. People just can't get enough of the guy. But also, as a fan, i, of course also want to see him fight again as soon as he can do so with proper time to heal and train so he's at his best.

he knows Pacquiao is coming off a tougher fight than he made it look. He didn't take a beating, but he def. took a significant amount of punishment.
Exactly, he made it look easy, but he was taking punches from one of the hardest men in boxing.
Yes, it's too soon. The more I think about it, the more I realize it's terrible timing. It would be Pacquiao's third superfight in only ten months, with 6-7 months of that time being spent in hardcore training.
Floyd is not in need of any rest because he has done nothing in two years except beat bloated Marquez full of piss and quayle eggs. He is fresh as a daisy, so it's easy for him to say "let's fight" -- he knows Pacquiao is coming off a tougher fight than he made it look. He didn't take a beating, but he def. took a significant amount of punishment.
Would Floyd fight his two hardest fights within a 4 month time span? No f*cking way. I'd be surprised if he did that in 4 years, let alone 4 months. And when was the last time Floyd fought 3 megafights in ten months?
No wonder Floyd is eager to fight Pacquiao right now, he is probably banking on him being burnt out.

more bullshit excuses..is he a boxer or an actor???if this was floyd..ya'll would have 1000000000 floyds ducking manny threads

Roach huh..
hmm..you could be right.
Maybe Pac never agreed to fight on March 13th at all..
pac said after the fight he wants to enjoy his victory.. Never heard him say he wanted to fight on march.. it was just roach talking.. Dont get me wrong i want this fight to happen as soon as possible and may would be perfect if not for the stupid elections.. But march for me is too soon for pac coming off a big fight and onto an even bigger one..
I look at at Cotto's back to back wars with Margo, Mosely, Clottey and then Manny. Manny didn't have that hard of a time beating Cotto. Yeah, he took some shots, but i think there should be a resonable amount of time given him to prepare for another boxers style.
If he fights Floyd, he will need a certain amount of time to adjust and train for his style. And to let his ear heal, which i don't know how long that will take, but from what i understand, the damage was very minimal, less than that cut Cotto got from the Clottey headbutt, so i figure it will heal in the time frame it would take him to properly prepare for Floyd.
Manny shouldn't need any more time than Cotto took in between his back to back fights with those guys, seeing as how he beat Cotto pretty much with no problem, and is such a monster of a fighter. Now my expectations of Manny have escalated, seeing as how he has surpassed my expectations by such a wide margin.
the march now of never date is arum being greedy. he knows this fight will happen even if it gets moved. even mayweather wont pass this up at a later date, he needs the moolah.
in any case, w/ the kind of busy lifestyle pac has, you could say it's too soon. he's got a film to finish, a couple of running tv shows to tape, endorsements to make and top it of w/ preparing himself for the coming elections. could be done, but it's distracting.

It's a close call but it should be enough time. He's got plenty of time to rest after his boxing career is over.
It was just roach talking nonsense... Roach is a character but he needs to shut his mouth every now and then..

Also consider that although election campaigning won't start till late March, that there is a LOT OF PREPARATION work for this sort of thing. And you really want to be focused PURELY on the fight, which I think will be very difficult given all the election preparation work.
Who want's to go into the toughest/biggest fight of their career, in a relatively new higher weight division to boot, without their mind 100 percent focused!
even if he started camp one month from now it would give him a full 8 weeks of camp
most camps are 8 weeks Freddie has been on record as saying camps are 8 weeks for Manny so he could take this whole month off and still have a full camp
the too soon thing is false and even Freddie knows this because of his own words
If he's hurt, I think maybe its a bit too soon..but then, why was Pac's camp considering a Foreman fight at 154 for that same day in March, if Pac is so hurt?
That's what I don't understand most about all this.
It was just roach talking nonsense... Roach is a character but he needs to shut his mouth every now and then..
YES. People don't realize how important it is for Pac winning the election.
He was gonna fight anyway in March though?
Walk me through this: How does Floyd being in the picture change that?
