Damn, I must be crazy then because I still dont think its legit. Sure his legs are shakey but what difference does that make if youre not getting hit? Dude didnt land anything. Just because RJ is out that instant doesnt mean he cant get his legs back in another minute or at the end of the round. Again, I could see if dude was landing but he wasnt doing anything. Infact, he was having such a hard time that he was trying to pull RJ's gloves down so that he could land a punch. I wouldnt have stopped that shit. RJ is not throwing back and his legs are wobbly but as long as your up and not taking any punishment then why stop it? With that being said, RJ hasnt shown in the Tarver & Johnson loss that he recovers well so he probably was done anywas. Still wouldnt have stopped it though

Good stoppage. The ref actually gave Roy a chance, he did a great job. No one can blame him for having respect for Roy's legacy and I don't think anyone wanted to see Roy leave the ring permanently hurt. Well maybe some of you but not most people.

Roy Jones Jr was shot before Calzaghe fought him, this just further proves it. and btw this was Danny Green's second fight at cruiserweight, he used to fight at super middlweight a few years ago. Some of the Commentators sound like they have never seen or comment on a boxing fight before, Saying stuff like "temple shot" lol, From the stream that i saw RJJ looked like he couldnt survive the round because there was still over 1.30 minutes left to the end of the round. the Brits say the same when the Americans commentate on football (soccer)

he was given plenty of time to get himself back into the fight but decided to cover up and take the shots and threw NOTHING back. it was a good stoppage.

I agree...it was obvious he thru, he never tried to punch back or even clinch. He clinched once, referee pushed him back and he wobbled back to the ropes.

I just saw it. It was a good stoppage. What SILENCERS said was on point. Sad to see how the mighty have fallen. Roy is clearly shot.

I thought the ref done a good job. He gave Roy a chance to throw something back or last another minute but their was no reply from Roy. A good stoppage by the Ref imo.

The stoppage was fair. Personally, it's worth noting that Benn took a LOT more punishment from McClellan in the first round of their fight without the ref stepping in, but at Roy's age... this was for the best. The stoppage was fair. If it hadn't have been stopped, I still don't see any other possible outcome for the fight.

I thought the ref should have let it continue. I dont think Roy was as hurt as the Tarver knockdown. Roy knows how to defend himself and fight off the ropes. Ref should have given him a chance

good stoppage. roy threw only 1 half hearted return punch and green although not connecting flush (thankfully) hit him another 30 odd times. actually it was about 45 give or take a couple

Very proper stoppage.Roy looked too tense before coming in the ring, and didn't look right.His jabs had little speed on them as well. Congrats to Danny Green.Maybe this sets up a Hopkins fight- At least it could be more competitive...
