If the UK wanted to Pacquiao-Mayweather, they would have made an offer.
Promoters would never go over anyway, because England taxes half, Las Vegas and Texas there are no taxes for these events. Hence, why they are the front runners.
USA gate takings are usually bigger for Floyd's fights.I dont think many people will be willing to pay thousands of £££ for the fight. When Ricky Hatton fought in a stadium he didnt get much money although the stadium was full.Calzaghe used to fight in a stadium and fill it up and still get peanuts. You cant host a big boxing event where people are only prepared to pay football type of prices.
100k+ could generate
£1 is $1.6625
£75 x 50k = 3,750,000
£100 x 40k = 4,000,000
£250 x 5k = 1,250,000
£500 x 4k = 2,000,000
£750 x 800 = 600,000
£1000 x 150 = 150,000
£5000 x 50 = 250,000
equals 12 million UK pounds or $19,950,000
I just guessed the prices though. Would people be willing to pay it?

Whne i went to the Hatton fight at Man City stadium, i paid £250 ($425ish) for my ticket, which certainly aint a football ticket price.
Wembley Stadium can hold 90,000+ for a football game.

or the Millennium stadium which holds 75,000+ and can close its roof.

If they want to shatter attendance records then hold it one of these grounds, sadly it won't happen though.
i aint paying to watch floyd fight another tune-up in the UK or US or Antarctica or Sri Lanka...it needs to be in regular HBO...
and the days of having megafights outside of vegas is over...unless its in a place like macau or dubai where the casinos or several investors have and are willing to front cash for such in event.
there is no country out there right now that has the resources in this global economy to
pull it off.
i think UK > US in economy @ the moment, and why care about the cash
its all about the fight and the atmosphere, 100k people in a stadium is epic to see, good for boxing

Since the sport is bigger over here, it should be held over here. We deserve it, since we're such loyal fans. Anyone who wants to keep it on US soil just for the sake of the reasons you quoted, is a greedy bastage and can simply fuck off.
But then, since it obviously won't happen in the UK, discussing this is pointless. The US will always be a bunch of greedy capitalists to me, anyway.
yah.. i think making it in UK makes this fight bigger....
This fight in wembley would be epic. Insane atmosphere, under the lights. Dont know what the guy talking about drama is all about, 100,000 fans roaring fans in wembley is 10x more dramatic then 20,000 in vegas
The whole point is you guys get up at 4 in the morning because the sport is bigger over there. We wouldnt get up 4 in the morning to watch Hatton. Its different. We arent selling out big stadiums like Calzaghe. Boxing if finally getting some buzz in the US and everyone is talking about this fight. You have to keep it on US soil. If you want a huge fight in Wembley then take something like Khan vs JMM or whatever. This is not the one
The UK is where the real money and thats why wrestling and nfl are starting to host events here.

Hah, what a crock.
Us UK fans loyally buy the PPVs, too, just to watch big fights taking place in the US. It's about time we were repayed for our generosity.
exactly, we are the ones who get up at 4 in the mornig to watch ppv's
