He could call out Andrade or Miranda for an easy win into the 168lb division then maybe a fight with Bute or another titelist at 168. Then wait for the super six champ.
No. I think their are far to many dangerous opponents for him at 168. I think he should stay at middleweight for now after last nights performance! It looks me the bigger the puncher the bigger the chance of Paul getting his ass whooped. He was lucky that Martinez wasn't a big puncher because those were some huge shots! His defense is really lacking and if does move up then he must make great improvements before he steps up...
Stylistically I see him beat Pavlik (straight punching don't get the job done vs. Williams) and maybe even Kessler...but guys like Ward, Bute or Abraham will beat his ass...
168 is too big a jump at the moment for Paul, Sergio Martinez proved that last night. If he consistently fights at 154 or 160 and lets his body grow into those weights, 168 could happen one day. Right now top level super middleweights embarrass Paul Williams.
Paul would get taylored at 168. He needs to stay at 154. He'll have a tough time with guys like cintron and angulo but 154 is were his best chance at winning is at.
You think he would struggle with Angulo? I laugh at that. He already beat a better version of Angulo in Margarito. And Cintron? Please, Cintron cannot handle a guy with skill and pressure. He would crumble.
With Paul's style, I think anything above 160 is a mistake for now. He can make good fights with Pavlik and maybe the Mosley/Berto winner. He doesn't need 168 at this point in time.

Why would you bump this?
Paul got dropped and was getting buzzed by a light middleweight that isn't known as a puncher, yet you're talking about him facing some of the hardest punchers at 168. An Andrade fight might be great though.
because Williams defense sucks they are oth Nasty punchers for the weight and will out weight Paul y atleast 15 pounds!!!!
Paul gets pulverized both!!!!
well then he can drop down and pulverize Cotto. Doubt Cotto would be interested...

The Williams hype is unreal.
Another year and a half and he won't even be able to top the 160 division with all the young talent there Korobov, Golovkin, Pirog, N'jikam, Jacobs
The 168lbers would kill him. Guy better stick to 154 and 147. Try getting past Martinez and Dzinziruk (both willing and itching to fight him despite Kellerman claims)
If he seriously tries to campaign at 160 or 68 PW fans will be in for a rough time.
Nah it aint hype.
Only if he wants to lose again. There are 4 or 5 guys there who would beat him, maybe more.

You'll be able to answer this question in 1 week.
We need to see how Williams can do against Martinez and then against Pavlik. If he handles them easily at 160 then go ahead and test 168 against a middle-tier SMW, why not?
williams says he walks around at 185...he's a skinny dude even at that weight...he get planted at heavyweight...but i need to see his speed at 168-175...i think he could definitely run it at 160...everything higher? you have to wonder...he must lose weight easily...
