While it may be his norm I don't think its good or has served him well as you put it. Yo-yoing in weight so drastically is not good. Look at the boxers who are considered gym rats and stay closest to fighting weight between fights.......Mosley, Hopkins and PBF. I can virtually guarantee that if they had done what Hatton does they would've been forced to retire years ago.
Ok, to say it's served him well was maybe the wrong choice of phrase - but it hasn't hindered his career to date was more the point I was making. I agree with what you say about Mosley, Hopkins, PBF... they're doing their thing and that's what works for them. Hatton's a whole different ball game, what he needs is to be able to switch off between fights and be a normal person for a while - then, when it's time to go to work again, he'll be remotivated and he'll knuckle down and train as hard as anyone out there.
Different strokes for different folks and all that...
Exactly right - I'm amazed it's even being commented on to be honest. So Hatton likes a pie and a pint when he's not in training camp for a fight, big deal. It's served him well his whole career up until this point so why would he change now?

COZ HE IS FVCKING DELUSIONAL:boxing:
So Ricky Hatton would suddenly decide to stop eating shit/drinking beer between fights "COZ HE IS FVCKING DELUSIONAL"?
Well, you got me there. What a well considered and eloquently put point you've made. Bravo.
To be fair he does this after every fight, it's not much of a shock, he always manages to get back to his fighting weight.

He doesnt look bad at all, In fact he looks better than previous weeks.
Indeed.

Cause I feel bad for the dude.. I think he's going through some major depression right now. I know that he always blows up between fights but I don;t think he will ever fight again so this will be his weight for the rest of his life.
No homo but the guy looked a lot better when he was skinny. Probably right now even his wife can't stand looking at him. She's probably getting dik elsewhere while ricky's eating himslef to death.
I don't understand why he doesn't just keep his shape and would rather look like a couch potato than his regular elegant frame.
Anyway I wish him the best and hope he looks at himself in the mirror soon and decides to do something about his weight
He's a millionaire with a pin up girlfriend, sucsessful career, the start of a sucsessful promotion business, he eats what he enjoys, drinks with his mates in teh pub he's grown up in with people who don't treat him like a Celeb, he achieved more than anyone on this site ever has including the awsome Mr Scully
and your diagnosis is he's depressed because he's a few ibs overweight?
Now that IS retarded.
He doesn’t look great but he is much better than before he looked ill a while back, anyway I have a roundish face a bit like Hatton and its hard to stay looking in shape as the slightest lay off in training makes me look like a fat head, after I broke my knuckle i haven’t been able to go the boxing gym i still run 15mins a day and do shadow boxing and keep to a diet but I already look a bit fat its actually very annoying lol.
I met him last week at 'An Evening With Ricky Hatton' in Glasgow. I was surprised by how much weight the camera appears to add. Obviously he is out of shape, but I was standing right next to him, and he was in the same room as me all night, and he doesn't look to bad to be honest. I don't think dropping weight will be too big a problem if he comes back.exactly the impression i got, i met him between the Malinaggi and Pac figths and he was not fat buy any normal presons standard, not ripped but hardly fat. I guess he was about 11/12 stone (154-168) based on the fact i'm his hieght and weigh 11 stone (154)
If Hatton comes back JMM would be a bad choice. He could beat alot of the top 10 but I dont think he could take JMM at this point. He should just slowly get into shape and then fight Juan Diaz. I think Hatton-Diaz at 140 would be great.
