Reading some of his statements I thought he sounded an idiot but wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Then I heard him on the radio last night and it confirmed it.
In a way I'd like Vitali to KO him.
Excellent post! You're a knowledgeable boxing fan. :fing02:Johnson is better than most people believe, and the fight will be more competitive than Arreola-Vitali was. However I think Kevin will either be stopped late, in the 10th to 12th rounds, or lose a decision.
Kevin is very similar to Larry Donald, a solid contender for many years who went the distance with prime Riddick Bowe, so I believe the fight will be very much like Vitali-Donald.
I agree with you. JFB629 up to now has been a great poster. Good for the forum:fing02:
just as the Arreola fight was. Arreola was a perfect matchup for Vitali. But Johnson wont be rushing in so i think he wont be made as ugly. but Johnson prolly doesnt have Arreolas chin which is apparently granite.
Arreola has been hurt and knocked down before so I wouldn't say it is granite. Good, but not granite.
It's one thing to be put down late in a fight when you are tired but he was cool when he was hurt and put down. Vitali just isn't Wlad: If that was Wlad in there Chris would have been taken out if Wlad decided to unload.
Vitali is more of a bruising puncher that pounds you into submission unlike his brother who if he decides to unleash a bomb, can shake you to the bone.
That's why I've said in the past that if you can just combine the two brothers, that would be incredible. Each have their strengths and weaknesses like everybody else...which is why it's exciting to watch.
I like Johnson. He's a very skilled Heavyweight. Fast hands, quick on his feet and a sound boxing brain.
His Jab is one of the best in the division. It's fast, accurate and sharp. It his best punch in his arsenal.
He's not a huge hitter, but as of late has been putting a few away. He is coming off a pretty impressive performance were he stopped Devin Vargas in 6. Vargas was 17-0 going into the fight, with a fine amature pedigree, which included winning the National Golden Gloves Heavyweight Title and going to the Olympic Games in 2004. Although Vargas did take the fight on short notice.
Johnson is also a student of the game and has studied extensive footage of Muhhamad Ali and Larry Holmes. Two of the best Jabbers in Heavyweight History. Which is always good to hear.
He also never had a big amature background. Just 18 fights and never took up the sport of boxing until the age of 18. So he has learn't quick and come along way.
But he has a giant challage in front of him. Vitali Klitschko is a hard puzzle to figure out to say the least. He is extremly unorthodox, heavy handed and has a anvil chin. He would be hard fight for any Heavyweight in history.
Vitali has won 38 out of his 40 fights and the 2 losses are very questionable. One was to Southpaw Chris Byrd, were he pulled out due to a shoulder injury in the 9th round when he was miles ahead on the cards.
The other was two then Heavyweight King Lennox Lewis, were the bout was stopped on a cut in the 6th round. At the time of the stoppage Vitali led on the score cards.
37 of his 38 wins have come back KO. One of the highest KO percentages in history. He was also a world class amature.

WOW...you make him sound like the next coming of Larry Holmes.
I've only seen one fight with him and wasn't that impressed so I'll have to check out some more.
Wonder how many others share this opinion of yours.
Right now I have him getting schooled by Vitali.

Johnson has done nothing to prepare for a fighter like Vitali Klitschko. Mismatch in my opinion.

This thread is useless without quotes...:sucks::lame:
