I think if Taylor loses he should consider never fighting again. Or at least fight some complete bums for a while.
It's probably selfish of me but before he retires I'd like to see him have one last farewell fight in his hometown in front of an appreciative crowd.
Surely there's a somewhat "name" opponent out there he could look good against... a Jesse Brinkley, for instance...
Yea, cuz Kessler wasn't hurt at all by Ward's right hands...Oh wait he was. And he has a much better chin than shot ass Taylor does on top of it. Ward has power when he sits down on his shots. More than enough to finish that weak bearded Taylor.
Ward by brutal knockout.
Ward's got OK power but outside of Dirrell he probably has the softest hands of anyone in the tournament.
He's dominated his last four opponents from bell to bell but only managed to stop one of them, a bum who was KO1'd by John Duddy. And Ward's stoppage of Pudwill was from an accumulation of punches, not devastating one-punch power.
Yes, he's got decent power but not enough to warrant predicting a "brutal knockout" over Taylor, who has only been stopped by guys who have made careers out of knocking guys completely unconscious. His punch resistance may be dwindling but to call him "weak chinned" is a joke. He went 12 rounds with Pavlik in the 2nd fight, and most of 12 taking punches from both Froch and Abraham before they each stopped him. Nobody in the tournament would've survived the bomb that AA dropped on Taylor.
I think Taylor will deal with the holding better. Maybe fire some combos while Ward leans in to grab. One thing good is Taylor wont have to worry about the pace or Wards power.

well this will be interesting. Outside of Abraham...I have never really seen Taylor outboxed. What I have seen is him getting caught or fighting shell shock due to him being scared of getting knocked down. He may have always been chinny, but the fighters he has fought didnt have the power to expose him.
Winky-no power
B-hop-power in his prime, but was a pure boxer when taylor fought him
Spinks-no power
Ouma-some power, but not enough skills to catch taylor
Lacy-not enough skills to catch Taylor
as you can see, when it came to boxing, that is were Taylor excelled. Power punchers such at Pavlik, Abraham, and Froch have been Taylor's downfall and Ward clearly is not from that cloth.
Since I've never seen anyone brutalize Taylor like that over the course of 11 rounds, I'm going to have to say that Taylor will give Ward a few more problems than Kessler did. Then again nobody had dominated Kess like that before either, so it may not be the best logic, BUT... Taylor is a hair quicker than Kessler. Probably not as quick as Ward but maybe quick enough to get his jab off better and hit more than just air with his counters. Ward fights with his hands down a LOT and is there to be hit if someone can time him and is quick enough.
I still think Ward wins, if not by late TKO from accumulation of damage, then at least 8-4.
