What was the excuse to fight Marquez again Floyd Stans?

Maybe he should have tuned up against a tomato-welter like Michael Jennings instead? Or maybe Steve Forbes? What do you suggest TS? Would've perferred a tomato can in the WW division as a tuneup.....would have been more credible....but to make it a spectacle.....title it "Numero Uno"...and charge $44.95, which by the why I didn't support, I would have much rather Floyd faced a WW journeyman...than making a LW come up to WW and still not honor the contract.....

I wanted to see what Floyd Stans would be coming up with......any sane fan knew the reason Floyd fought Marquez.....and it wasn't for p4p status or WW ranking....it was bargaining power.....but some still fail to realize that it was not a level battlefield.....that's all.....

I think he wanted to make a statement by coming out of retirement and thrashing someone in his tuneup fight who took pacman to the wire twice. I have no comment on whether this statement was made or not but it seems pretty clear why he chose the opponent?

Umm, mosley called out Floyd after May-Marquez fought. What then do you call a fight when a fighter returns to the ring after a long lay-off? Cotto returned after a beating at the hands of Margarito against Jennings and nobody said shiet. Why not? Who was Jennings? Again nobody said a peep when Cotto fought him. Why are some people raggin' on Floyd for fighting the #2 P4P fighter in the world after a long layoff? Does Cotto go around saying he's the best? He's a PPV draw? He's a superstar? No...he fights, he fights, and he fights.....his fists do the talking...which is how it should be. Marquez is a Lightweight, 135lbs., Floyd campaigns at WelterWeight, 147lbs., the contract weight was 144lbs., it was obvious that Marquez had no business above 140lbs., and FLoyd STILL did not honor the contract weight and bought himself insurance.....Marquez was in the same position as Pacquiao was against DLH.....win/win situation and biggest payday. If he lost, the arguement was "He didin't belong at that weight"....which is the huge statement from everyone......if he won...."All the more power and respect to Marquez". The Marquez camp could have easily refused to face Mayweather if they were not sure they could beat him. Let's see....Morales trilogy, Barrera II, Velasquez, Larios, Solis......sound like excuses?
