I think DLH-Mayweather did 2.5 million buys. F*ck that is a lot, and very hard to beat I really didnt think it ever would be topped but its possible with this fight. I'm not one who really worries about how many PPV buys a fight does but with numbers like that it shows our sport is still in great shape. I think its possible but I don't know if it will do quite as many as DLH-Mayweather.
De La Hoya has been a crossover star, almost celebrity since before the Trinidad fight and thats why hes the richest boxer in history, so of course any fight with him would do great PPV numbers. Top that off with him fighting Mayweather the best fighter at the time and that equals the highest selling fight ever.
I think Pac-May could possibly do as much because Pac is the best and most exciting fighter around, and Mayweather undefeated great fighter and he has a lot of fans and the people that don't like him would pay to see him lose. Plus this is the fight everyone wants to see. I think if Manny had been around the mainstream here in America earlier on it would take the prize as highest selling fight ever, but since he hasn't near as long as DLH not all people have heard of him, as where almost anyone, boxing fan or not, had at least heard the name Oscar De La Hoya. If it happens and doesn't exceed it I bet it gives DLH-May a run for the money at least. What do you guyd think?
