Vitali is the best Boxer right now and the best of his time (which is after the Lewis/Tyson/Bowe/Holyfield era). I still say Vitali is better than Wlad.
Vitali is #1 in my book, best boxer right now.
LEWIS retired to escape a rematch.
vitali could hang with any HW from history - mofo is one of the strongest boxers of all time. up there with foreman, liston and lewis.
in some ways he is a great HW but he hasn't had that all dominating career that he should have because of bad luck with injuries and also because of the success of his brother.
btw vitali has the best staredown - bar none!!!
Ali, Louis, Frazier, etc. weren't even real world champions. Fighters from the former Soviet Union weren't allowed to turn pro until the 1990's because of the cold war. Now our Soviet fighters are allowed to turn pro and are ALREADY DOMINATING.
OK what Soviet amateurs from the 60's and 70's would beat Ali, Frazier and Foreman? I realise they don't have any amateur pedegree, on no wait hold on they won gold medals nearly forgot. To be fair I guess Vitali might have got a gold if he didn't get caught for the steroids.
NO...saying that the Soviets or even the Cubans wouldn't dominate like some people think. It would be just more competitive. You would still have the elites from the States as the elites with them having a tougher time winning because more elite fighters from the Soviet Union and Cuba would take the stage. But standouts from both sides would be standouts...as long as the amateurs proved to be worthy pros because there is no guarantee.
Cuban's and the Soviets have a good amateur record but no reason their success rate on turning a great amateur into a good pro would be any greater than for the U.S.
Ali would outbox him
I doubt, but there is another option... Vitali is very vulnerable to cuts, and Ali was very good at cutting his opponents... If they fought I think that one of the most probable outcomes could be Ali by TKO due to cuts... But there would be no domination of Ali, or he probably would have been trailing on the cards...
how many times did ali was on the canvas? vitali was never down, he's propably one of the very few heavyweight champion who was never down, always ahead on scorecards damm this guy is a huge monster me myself consider him like in the top 10 best heavyweight of all time
One feat will stand out for years to come:
- 1,400 days off the ring due to injuries.
- Enter a World Champion fight without warm up fight.
- Don't lose a single round in the fight.
- Destroy the champion physically and mentally (he quit in the corner).
Impressive.
A great video of a great man and a great boxer.
Vitali Klitschko has earned his right as a future hall of famer without a doubt...anyone who tries to deny this is either delusional or holds an agenda that has nothing to do with boxing.
Vitali will continue to walk the walk and dominate the Heavyweight division...this time will always be remembered as the "Klitschko era" and their legacy will never fade.
All boxing fans from here on will live the rest of their lives with the Klitschko brothers' legacy sealed in the hall of fame whether they like it or not, so they better get used to it. :boxing:
Vitali, Wlad , or Lewis would beat any of the HW greats of the past Ali, Marciano, Foreman, Dempsy..ETC......comparing any great fighter from today with any great fighter from 30-80 years ago is a joke. The athletes of the present are superior.
I'm not so sure of that. Let's see today's fighters fighting every 2-3 weeks instead of every 3-4 months and see how they do. People have been fighting for ever. There are no truly new tricks of the trade. The Philly Shell has been around since the turn of the last century. A lot of today's training methods are rehashing of what was the norm 100 years ago. I'm not saying that today's fighters couldn't compete with the past fighters. Of course they could. I'm just saying that you shouldn't discount the earlier greats. They certainly weren't jokes.
says the retarded racist black supremacist.
The Klitschko brothers are both all time greats and hall of famers. They would beatdown all of the overrated, undersized American heavyweights from the past.
Ali, Louis, Frazier, etc. weren't even real world champions. Fighters from the former Soviet Union weren't allowed to turn pro until the 1990's because of the cold war. Now our Soviet fighters are allowed to turn pro and are ALREADY DOMINATING.
Have to differ with you.
But first let me state where we agree. Because of the Cold War some of the best fighters were not allowed to participate like Stevenson from Cuba; but to say the Klitschkos are the best of all-time. We can't say that. They haven't fought top competition. As a point of comparison the Lewis - Vitali Klitschko fight was very close, and as we all know, Vitali lost. I think that Vitali would have won the rematch and would have won the fight if not for the cut. BUT WE DON'T KNOW. The rematch never happened and the cut did stop the fight. Now Lewis was a good fighter but is not one of the ATGs.
So to say, with certainty, that the Klits are among the best ever. I don't think so. Personally I think that both Klitschkos would have a hard time with Evander Holyfield and he isn't an ATG. Styles after all make fights.
I like the Klitschkos but they haven't done enough to be considered ATGs.
Vitali Klitschko would be hard fight for any Heavyweight in history. Standing over 6''7 inches. He is one of the most unorthodox Heavyweights in the history of boxing.
He is one hell of a hard puzzle to figure out. He holds his hands low and his chin fairly open. He is extremley heavy handed and has a anvil like chin.
His record and stats speak for themselves. Vitali has won 38 out of his 40 fights and the 2 losses are very questionable. One was to Southpaw Chris Byrd, were he pulled out due to a shoulder injury in the 9th round when he was miles ahead on the cards.
The other was two then Heavyweight King Lennox Lewis, were the bout was stopped on a cut in the 6th round. At the time of the stoppage Vitali led on the score cards.
Other than that, no one seems to be able to figure out Vitali.
37 of his 38 wins have come back KO. One of the highest KO percentages in history. He was also a world class amature and is a dedicated sportmen.
Injuries have stopped and started his career in the past. Without the Injuries he may have been able to achieve more and cerment a more defining legacy so to speak.
But all Vitali can keep doing is winning in impressive fashion and defending his Title. And no one can deny him his place in Heavyweight history.
It also nice to see him being so active now a days.......

Yeah. Shame he never beat anyone good.
Unfortunately there is an element of truth to this.
VK is my favourite HW right now and one of my favourites of all time but he just hasn't had the guys to fight. He lost his only fight against another great fighter in Lewis and for that reason history will not treat Vitali very fairly.
Still, a great and dominant HOF Heavyweight champ who has had a very good career.
No I don't hate him. But if you and your ignorant friends want to belittle fighters like Ali, frazier, and Joe Louis, I can damn sure do it to Vitali.
Welcome to their ignore list if you haven't made the honor :beerchug:
Vitali wont be remember in the same way Ali, Tyson, Frazier are simply because he was *SO* much better than anyone trying to step to him. There are no classical brawls or close fights. Just scientific, complete domination.
That was nearly ten years ago. You must really hate him, since you keep bringing it up.
