We asked for it. We're getting it.
Here's a great article by By Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports
LAS VEGAS – Just minutes after Manny Pacquiao had violently turned Miguel Cotto’s face into raw hamburger, the chant rose up from the stands of the MGM Grand Garden Arena:
“We want Floyd.”
Pacquiao had delivered a systematic demolition job of Cotto, winning the World Boxing Organization welterweight title via 12th round TKO with round after round of devastating shots against a bigger, stronger man.
It was the second electrifying boxing performance of the fall. The first was Floyd Mayweather Jr’s 12-round decision over Juan Manuel Marquez in September. That fight broke the rare 1 million pay-per-view bar, a number that will likely be exceeded by this fight too.
So now the stage is set for a super fight that could set box office records – Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. It’s the dream bout between the two best pound-for-pound champions in the sport, hopefully sometime in 2010.

This fight has to happen for sure.
Calling it the biggest fight in history is retarded.
Until proven otherwise, it's the biggest fight in the making. When a large crowd on live TV (not to mention the majority of the boxing public) is heard around the world clamoring for "We want Floyd!", it's bound to be the biggest ever. Until another one tops it, that is.
I think the fight will happen.
the 50/50 negotation thing will come to 55/45 to favouring Pac but that is the way to negotate sometimes.
Floyd was hoping that Pac wins Cotto. So now the super fight is going to happen.
As for people think Floyd could just KO Floyd should think again. Pac have trouble abit with counter-punchs and Floyd does that but without combs and better than Marquez.
50/50 is alright for both, I hope GBP wont spoil the fun, they may say Pac should fight Mosley or Marquez instead, but the bigger fight people wanna see is Pacquiao vs Mayweather, thats what everyone wants.
