If Pacquiao and Mayweather Both Retired, Who Would Be Considered Greater Overall?

while i wouldnt say he needs to fight an african american, truthfully, all of the all time greats ended up facing every style. On the way up, pac did not face joan guzman, but he has an oppurtunity to face mayweather who fits the mold of what people are talking about. Basically, other than marquez, just about everybody pac has fought have been either boxer punchers like himself, or engaging/will imposing fighters. Nobody really "moves" against pac. Think about this, guys like Ali literally faced every style. A defensive minded slick fighter is something pac has NOT really faced or if he has, its been a VERY long time. While hes considered an all time great, just like Duran is, facing every style is critical in judging his position on that ladder. Pacquiao = Jack Dempsey if he doesnt fight a African American fighter. Plain and Simple Not even top 30 atg if he retires without fighting an African American fighter just like Jack Dempsey

I would love to see it happen. Freddie Roach is amazing. He has a great boxing brain and he always has a bunch of different strategies for a fight so his fighter can adjust and make necessary changes during a fight. Cotto, last night was a fighter fighting by himself. Whenever he would go back to the corner, he would get the same response: Jab, let him come to you, you're doing good. He really needs Roach I think. One more thing about Roach is that Roach is very down to earth and honest unlike other money hungry trainers (Emmanuel Steward etc.). Manny Pacquiao if both were to reitre today. Mayweather is 31, he ain't done yet, he can still get some other big wins on his resume. Skill wise Floyd will always be remembered as one of the most gifted fighters to ever put on a pair of boxing gloves.
