pacman was intent on finishing him off. he landed like 3 quick shots to start the round and bayless was following them around looking for the slightest hint of trouble. this fight definitely lasted longer than it should have. :killyou:

I really feel like I got my money's worth on that PPV last night because Cotto actually did put up a good fight against Pac. This fight was way more competitive than Pac's fights against Diaz, Hatton, and De La Hoya. I wanted to see Pacquiao tested a little bit, and I criticized him some for his comp up until now.

It was a good stoppage 55 secs left in the 12th. Pac was ahead on all 3 score cards anyway.

Fight was going on for no reason for about three rounds. Cotto was in full retreat and Pac was looking at Bayless to stop it.

The hell it should be stopped! It would be dangerous if get's KO'ed! I still want Cotto to fight another day in another battle.

I disagree. Cotto was in a worse situation earlier in the fight, it should've been stopped there. I reckon Cotto would've made it to the end of the fight.

I think Bayless should have just let Cotto finish the fight. The result would have been the same but Cotto is better than being stopped by the ref. Symbolically, they should have let him finish the fight. No way. He was just running the last five rounds. That's no different than quitting to me. The only difference is Cotto wasted more of everybody's time by running. I'd have more respect for him if he gave up in round 9 or 10 than do that bullshit. Nobody can ever call Mayweather or Spinks a runner because they at least throw punches when they fight in reverse. Cotto was flat out running and trying not to get KO'd. I'm glad they stopped it on him.

Cotto wanted to survive badly, so I don't blame his corner. As Merchant said, he runs that show. He might have held it against them. Bayless probably should have stopped it a couple of rounds earlier. It was clear from 8-11 Cotto was done trying to win the fight. He just wanted to survive.

It was a good stoppage, if a fighter isn't trying to fight it is best to stop it.
