Was that when Cotto did land some great shots on him, he really was not fazed much at all. He would take one step back, reset and then continue on like it was nothing.
I never expected that at all. I was expecting that he would have to be incredibly cautious against Miguel as someone with Miguel's power could hurt him badly. He was just so focused and determined that I think that also affected Miguel and Miguel had to be thinking what will it take to discourage this guy.
Exactly, that was even more impressive than the last 2 fights imo. Also was amazed me was the size of Pacquiao! He look like a solid Welterweight /145 lber.
I did see Manny hesitate briefly when Cotto landed a hard left (or was it right?) hook on his face in round 2-5 (?). I can't remember which round, but I remember it really well Manny's face shook real hard and he stepped back for a few seconds, but after that nothing else Cotto did hurt him really.
In my opinion, the most amazing thing Manny did last night was to be the first fighter to score a legitimate knockdown against Cotto in the 4th round. It wasn't like in the Torres fight or like in the 3rd round (seemed more of a slip/balance issue than hurt), this time Cotto was visibly hurt.
It's a shame, though, because I was rooting for Cotto. But the best fighter won that night.
Yea seriously.
Honestly, in the 1st round my buddy and I were like "Pac looks a little shook" after he didn't respond great to his head snapping back from jabs.
Than in the 2nd he opened up and it was clear he was just being very patient in the first.
He took some big shots, and even in the later rounds Cotto's jab was still snapping his head back pretty hard, but Pac handled it and it rarely even phased him.
It's crazy how good he is. I really didn't think he was that good.
He actually looked like he wanted to get hit just to see what cotto has and to make cotto open up, Even in the later rounds he looked energized like he could go another 6 rounds.
