He already has proven that he can compete in the WW division.....he has shown he can box, he can fight, he can counter, he has defense, he has offense, he can take a Prime WW punch.....so why does he need to fight Mayweather, other than money????? I don't see a need anymore...Floyd needs Pac more than Manny needs him.....
The fighter Manny NEEDS....is the winner of Mosley/ Berto....why you ask...becuase with Pacquiao having the WBO....and the winner of Mosley/Berto having the WBA and WBC belts....IF Pac can get past that winner....and based off tonight's performance, I don't know how anyone can doubt this beast, how great would it be for his LEGACY...that he retire dam near Unifying the WW division....the right way.....
I feel deep in my heart that Manny would destroy Floyd...Floyd has a great defense yes...but his feet remain STATIONARY while only moving his upperbody....
Floyd, stay away, wuss out and re-match Hatton, or out price yourself out of a fight with Pacquiao to save whatever dignity you have left of your career.....Manny, the public wants you to fight Floyd to prove who is the best P4P, you answered that question tonight with no chance of a re-buttle...I would like to see you fight Mosley/ Berto to prove to the world that you will be the one and only Manny Pacquiao and that years from now, when the majority of the fans today are long gone, all that the new generations can say..."Dam....I wish I could've seen that guy fight"
Dicuss!
I would rather see Floyd fight the winner of Berto-Mosley myself. Let Floyd make peanuts fighting someone else. And Bringer just said that Mayweather deserves this fight more than Mosley does? No way. I know Floyd brings more money to the table than Mosley. But if Pacquiao were to beat Shane, that would make Floyd have to take peanuts for the fight.
And as much as I've criticized Mosley for not doing a damn thing after his win over Margarito, Mayweather is just wasted sperm compared to Shane right now because beating Margarito by devestating KO is a hell of a lot more meaningful than decisioning JMM while making him move up two divisions and cheat the weigh in.
:hail::notworthy
Mayweather vs Pacquiao might happen but for sure it will be on Manny's terms not Floyds. Pac is the best right now and if Floyd doesn't respect that Manny will just go to someone who will ... the winner of Berto/Mosley. In short Pacquiao doesn't need to play Floyd Mayweathers bullshit games. If Money May wants to fight he signs the contract given if he doesn't Pacquiao will collect the rest of the belts in the division. Simple as that.
Excellent...pretty much condensed my long ass statement.....
If you honestly think this, you know nothing about boxing!
Explain to me what it is about boxing I don't know or understand. I've stated my reasons for this thread....explain your statement.
After tonights performance....why? What has Floyd done to deserve a shot at Pac? His talent and skill are unquestionable....but Manny's determination and will to win are also unquestionable....but with Floyd getting easy payday after payday....why should Team Pac oblige him with another undeserved payday? I understand the rest of the world is begging for this fight...I am not saying I would not want this fight either.....but the option I am speaking about is not about the money aspect....it is about the Legacy aspect. Manny beat Cotto...of course the questions will come up..."Cotto was never the same after Margarito"...."Cotto was drianed at 145".....all BS....so Manny should pick up the other belts....for SIMILAR money....and still add to his status. Floyd is in the game only for money.....that much is very clear. If Floyd really wants to fight Manny....50/50 or nothing.....like I said earlier...Manny = #1 fighter....Floyd = #2 fighter....why should #1 bow to #2 / Call out #2? He shouldn't....plain and simple.

You guys are jokes...the world wants to see this fight but know it about not giving Mayweather his payday. The money this fight would generate is massive...you can bet your silly brains that this fight is going to happen.
So we are jokes for even considering fights for REAL LEGACY over money? There is nothing wrong fighting for money....and I would gladly shell out another $54.95 for a Floyd/ Manny fight.....BUT...I will gladly shell out even up to $100.00 to watch a unification bout between Mosley/Manny.....what's so funny about that? (Ok...maybe $100 for the fight is a lil much)

Im sorry but...
Beating Mayweather is more valuable to Mannys legacy than winning the other belts @ WW....
To me....beating Mayweather is a huge payday....you can't say that it would do much for his legacy as people are already knocking Floyd for him avoiding Elite WWs....we (myself included) base Mayweather's greatness on his talent and his talent alone (for the last 5 years anyway)....as he has constantly sough out easy paydays over "legacy" fights....
Pac fighting Cotto (before Floyd has even stepped in the ring with a legit WW) shows the heart of a true champion, and along with that..HIS biggest paydays. If Pac fights the fighters that Floyd has had excuses for not fighting, but the public recognizes as fighters that Floyd should be fighting (Mosely, Cotto) then what kind of legacy will Pac have other than fighting for money against Floyd....its already been established who the #1 p4p fighter is...and who the #2 is....and this isn't 5 yrs ago....:boxing:

Floyd is much more deserving of a shot against Pacquiao than Andre Berto or Shane Mosley.
No matter what your opinion of the cocky prick is, that much remains true.
He's the only man out there that is a threat to pacquiao, and vice versa.
The entire world wants to see it. This shit could be bigger than Oscar/Floyd, if promoted properly.
If the world is wanting this fight (Floyd/Manny) that is one thing...but to say that Floyd "deserves" a shot over Mosley or Berto is something totally different...Last 2 Yrs....Floyd = JMM, Hatton, DLH. We know what Pac did to all 3.....Shane = Margarito, Mayorga, Cotto.....Nuff said about that....Berto = Urango, Collazo, Forbes...yeah...ok Floyd trumps that....
So if anything...Shane DESERVES that shot at Pacquiao....after Pac fights Shane....win or lose....then fight Floyd....or after that war...Shane might be "old" enough that Floyd will decide to fight Shane afterall...
Holy crap. IF Manny were to beat the winner of Berto/Mosley, and he held three out of four major belts, would he then become LINEAR WW CHAMP?!?! WTF?!?!
That would make him a 5 DIVISION LINEAR CHAMP. Damn, you might be on to something.
Floyd for money?
Or Shane/Berto for history?
shane/berto for history, manny has plenty of money
Huh?? What does that have to do with my post? That poster said Pac should only take the fight for 60/40 and I said Pac team already said they are willing to take 50/50, so his post made no sense.
My bad....I was meaning for the fight for Pac / Floyd...IF it happened....50/50 right down the middle....I'm with you homie....
try to negotiate a 50/50 pac-may first.... if may refuse... then go the the 2nd option
,go with mosley/berto to get the linear belt...
this is the best plan i think
Has Floyd? You know he won't....he has already made it clear he wants the lion's share in ANY fight he is in....so who is the one that is holding up the fight from happening?

Why when Pac's camp has pretty much conceded to willing to fight for 50/50.

And yes I am a fan of Manny's....but far from a Tard.....I am looking at the Bigger Picture for Manny...not the Money Picture....
Sounds to me like you don't want to see the fight that the rest of the World does.
Why?

I disagree, they obviously need each other. It's the only fight that should be made. Questions will always be asked as long as the other man is still in the equation.
Respect......they can ask questions all day everyday....just like they do now, and they did before. Nothing that ANY fighter does, is never followed up with some kind of dis-crediting questions.....but if Manny decides not to fight Floyd and decides he would rather unify....what does that say about Manny? He avoided Floyd to unify the belts that were held by Mosley/ Berto...the same guys that Floyd had excuses for NOT fighting? He is dumb for passing up on his biggest payday...and is instead unifying? Personally.....Pac has enough money...."mo money mo problems".....do not give Floyd the satisfaction (although it would please many in the boxing public) of a huge payday. Instead go for true greatness....
