Will PBF achieve Ring Mag. P4P #1 with Cotto victory?
I say yes. No way Ring gives P4P #1 to a Puertorican.
If my memory serves me right, not even Tito achieved this; in those years, Roy was P4P #1 on Ring Magazine.
Just because you guys have hate for Floyd doesnt mean you can justify putting someone else in that spot. I dont care if Cotto destroys Pac in 3 rounds, there is no way you can look at that cat and tell the world that he is the best fighter in the sport. The same goes for Shane and Hopkins. There aint no way you can look at those cats and say that when they all just recently lost clear cut fights. Seriously, you guys are going to say one of those 3 are the best in the world? Thats what youre going to try to tell the public? Boxing would die then. The only guy who even looks like the best is Williams and he recently just got beat clearly over 12 rounds by an average cat. Floyd is #1 by a mile if Pac loses and its not even close
Explain your theory...:nana:
I really like Floyd but I don't understand how a Cotto victory would benefit him at all.
Floyd can't be #1 P4P if we can't even find out if he's the best welterweight. Just the win over the great Baldomir a couple years ago isn't enough.

Mayfag hasn't done a damn thing lately for boxing other than cherry pick his no competition opponents. Why the **** would he even be considered p4p #1?...
His mouth is bigger than his balls and that's why they broke in to his house n robbed him...cause they don't respect him...unless he rigged it so he could avoid another bout and get paid by scamming the insurance company..."I wouldn't put it past that punk."
Cotto beating the packman proves he's p4p #1 right now and the only way mayfag would be considered p4p over Cotto is to face him and we all know he is NOT going to do that cause he's got no heart, no balls and no shame... ****ing pendejo
**** Floyd. Two of the best fighters on earth are fighting tommorow that's the ONLY thing any of us should be caring about. As for placings........that's an interesting question. I say Cotto has a shot at shooting all the way to number one with a win.
Oscar was the doorway to stardom.
Oscars skill set and talent has never been on the same level of floyds.
fighting floyd is a proving ground, cant say the same for DLHand you know that
Floyd is great. I think his best attribute is his intelligence.
However if Floyd fights #2, beats #2, therefore he earns #2...
if Cotto fights #1, beats #1, therefore he should earn #1.
hes proven it. thats why Cotto and Pac for fighting for a shot at may. May isnt fighting for a shot at them and why is that?
B/c all roads lead to May...hes the P4P#1
By your same logic... when all roads led to Oscar, that meant Oscar was P4P #1.
That's not boxing... that's business.
To the TS..can you please remove that sig?..
I wanna gag everytime I see that shit..I don't mind feet..but not in my face like that..that's some sick festish bro..just saying..make that shit your wallpaper and screensaver or something..and save us the nausea..
^^Co sign!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No pound for pound is, if everyone was the same weight, height, size, etc. etc., who would win based on their skill set.
The answer to that question is Floyd Mayweather Jr.
No, that is not P4P.
Height is not measured in pounds. Size is not measured in pounds. Weight is measured in pounds.
So if Floyd went up to MW to fight Pavlik instead of fighting Hatton in late 2008, and lost, Pavlik should have been P4P #1?
Had Floyd beaten Abraham and Taylor before, of course.
You seem to forget Manny made Oscar stay sit at 145 and KTFO'd Hatton at 140.
Oh, yes, I forgot "but Oscar was dehydrated/shot/sick and Hatton was overrated".
Isn't P4P exactly that? That if you are P4P the best, once you make weight, you clean out a division because - Pound for Pound - no one can match you?
No, he is currently a 140lb'r who has gone up to fight the 147lb champ.
the 147lb'r SHOULD win.
That's like saying John Ruiz was fighting a 160 pounder in Toney. If Toney made heavyweight, he's heavyweight.
If Pacquiao makes WW, he's WW.
It seems there is a double standard for Mayweather. If he fights #2 spot, he gets #2 spot. If someone fights and beats #1 spot... Floyd gets #1 spot.

they already gave him the # 2 spot after beating jmm at ww....they wont have a problem puttin him there for sure ......cotto deserves to be # 1 if he beats pac....
look, weve had our battles in the past but surely you cant beleive that Cotto deserves to be #1 with a Pac victory. I know you arent crazy enough to beleive that. Even if its not Floyd, there are definatly other guys ahead of Cotto but it should be without a doubt, Mayweather
Why would Cotto jump from #7 to #1 for beating a former 106 lber. at 145?
Maybe because P4P #1 is fighting at WW right now, and one of the WW champions is fighting him at that weight class.
