I personally think they were ready to bring Haye on board and get rid of Valuev. Haye is more marketable has a style to fight anyone, Valuev is limited. Had the Dirrell/Froch fight been anywhere else, Froch would be beltless. I suspect that might be the answer.

First off this wouldn't still be discussed if it wasn't close and it was. Dirrell landed more telling blows watch youtube and you can count on one hand how many times froch lands per round. Ive seen this fight multiple times to see where i can be mistaken the only advantage froch has is ineffective aggression. ive watched the fight more times than you, froch landed harder shots...look at the 8th...that hook rocked dirrell baddddddddddd Froch misses badly ofen in the fight, blood does not mean anything when i comes to winning stop being a boxing poser and learn about he sport.. froch missed as he actually did work and threw punches, some missed, some hit...dirrell just hugged...
