(apart from with his eyes closed) What tactics should David Haye use to fight Vitali Klitschko?
Tale of Tape (approx):
David Haye:
Weight - 215-225
Height - 6' 3"
Reach - 78"
Vitali Klitschko:
Weight - 245 -250
Height - 6′ 8″
Reach - 80"
Stay away from Vitali, bounce, move, feint, throw 2 or 3 punches and get away, let Vitali do the leg-work, use head movement and high hands, never move or throw in straight lines, chip away at Vitali, throw to the body when its clear.
Basically tire and wear down the 38 year old veteran, DO NOT engage toe to toe, or give him a clear chin shot.
Most of Vitali's opponents are either stationary fighters (Peter) come forward type fighters (areolla) or were too fat to be able to utalise their speed and movement advantage (JCG)
but saying all that Vitali KO3
KO3.. So you give Haye less of a chance than Sam Peters, Chris Arreola, Juan Carlos Gomez and... (among others) Danny Williams?
i actually think that vitali is an easier fight for haye.
- my advice to haye would be to watch carlos gomez, chris byrd and other fighters who gave vitali problems.
Seriously? Vitali won almost every round against Gomez and Byrd so please say what the hell you're talking about.
i actually think that vitali is an easier fight for haye.
- my advice to haye would be to watch carlos gomez, chris byrd and other fighters who gave vitali problems. they all approached in angles and used greater mobility to outmanouevre the bigger man. vitali looks good when the other guy comes head on (ala arreola, sam peter) but if you force him to constantly think, constantly set himself and dart in and out of range then vitali can be made to look cumbersome.
- at times haye will have to potshot; throw your combos and then get out don't wait for vitali to return fire
- be patient; vitali is not going to go from a single shot you have to chip away at him to stand a chance. also go to the body now and again, this is something that not many fighters have been able to do with vitali, but lately he has been looking tired and a bit jaded in fights, a good body shot will take some wind out of his sails and allow haye to go for the KO
- don't get drawn into a shoot out or a slugfest with vitali
He could give him a blowjob right before the fight. That will take away his legs and his footwork.
Haye has fast hands but we still don't know if he has the same power he had as a CW. If he doesn't, i would advice him to try to do the same kind of job he did against Valuev. Hit and run but hit with more power and to use a lot more head movement.
IMO Haye doesnt have the style to beat him. James Toney has the better style against Vitali but he's finished.
Practice keeping his head somewhere near waist height and keep it moving. Make Vitali have to hit down on him. It'll be very hard for Vitali to generate maximum power and so he'll be forced to open up his - usually clamped shut - guard to deliver the uppercut. Haye must practice countering this shot with full power. Vitali doesn't give an opponent too many chances and so he has to take all of them.
Vitali is no longer at peak fitness and so if Haye can take him into the later rounds he's got an opportunity. I mean, Haye's the underdog for sure. But he's certainly no tomato can.
Calzaghe was 36 when he fought Hopkins, and I believe he was 37 when he fought Roy. Thats not much younger then either Hopkins or Roy. And Hopkins was ranked number 1 light heavyweight when Joe beat him. So go suck it bitch! :fu2:
And if you go to the official Hbo website, it even states Calzaghe was trying to get fights with both of them for years and both priced themselves out. So go **** yourself, because Hbo knows more about boxing then you do.
and what does that mean?
so if i fight a shot 32 yr. old and i'm only 28 , that means it was a good win?
please........
Vitali threw over 800 punches against Arreola, stop being a hater. Comparing Vitalis fight against live opponent in Arreola against a shot giant fighter like Valuev. :fu2:
It wasn't an entertaining fight. Haye vs Valuev wasn't an entertaining fight. The track meet thing was a partial joke about them running but I truly wouldn't be interested in seeing a fight between these two guys. HW division is soft and uninteresting right now.
The first tactic should be signing a contract that punishes himself severely for pulling out.
Yep, was gonna say, Haye actually getting in the ring with him would be a good place to start.
I honestly think Wlad Klitschko would do Haye just like he did Ray Austin. Without even throwing a right hand.
Vitali is a little slower and his jab isn't as heavy so I think Haye would last longer with Vit thought he stands a slightly better chance of defeating Wlad. Like 4% vs Wlad to 1.5% against Vitali.
It would help Haye's cause that Vitali is not as good on the front foot as he as a counter puncher, that said he would probably run Haye out the ring, sooner or later VK is going to hit him with something big.
Try to do something no other boxer has ever done before and outbox Vitali... :D
One brother he can't beat and thats Vitali, and the other brother Wlad has one of the best jabs in this sport but may have a slight chin problem and thats the only thing Haye could find in Wlad to take advantage of. But Wlad also seems to have become pretty good at defense and doesn't let anyone tee-off his face anymore. Both are very incredibly hard fights for Haye, but only one is winnable in my opinion.
Vladdy is the winnable one..I would'nt fancy his chances with VK at all
but like i said the only way Haye would win is basically a mirror image of how he fought Valuev...He cant slug with VK he cant try and go out there and impose his will cuz his a chinny fuka he'd get dropped in a matter of seconds..
Try to outbox him take the fight in the late rounds and hope that VK
gets old overnight...

haye should make it a tag-team match with Valuev and MAYBE he could squeak out a win against Vitali.
Otherwise, no chance.
